Daniel Tomaschko wins the AMT Cup Friedrichshafen Categories - Events, Gas, On Road, International, Racing - comments closedDaniel Tomaschko has won the 2006 ‘AMT Cup Friedrichshafen’ held last weekend alongside a hobby fair, at the Bodensee Friedrichshafen in southern Germany. The event attracted a lot of top 1/10th scale racers from across Europe and in a close qualifying which saw the top 10 racers covered by 3.5 seconds it was the Austrian driver Gerhard Kandelhart who took the top spot.
In the main final, held on the Sunday, there was again some very close battles, but in the end it was Austrian Serpent racer Tomaschko that emerged the winner, in a race that saw the top 5 covered by less than 10 seconds after 30 minutes of racing. Second place went to top German Mugen racer Manuel Huber with another German Günter Mürdter, driving a HoBao GPX4, in third.

Pro-Z.com have a photo report from the PN Mini-Z World Cup that was held at the RC Madness track in Connecticut in the last weekend of October. There are some pretty wicked looking Mini-Z’s there and some that don’t even resemble one at all, like this all carbon version with Group C body above.

MLC Collari motor by Novarossi Categories - Novarossi, MLC, Engines, Products - comments closed
We’ve all seen the pictures of the new 35 Plus .21 Lamberto Collari engine on the Novarossi site but here is a much nicer pic from Lamberto’s site tself. It is a nice looking motor from Novarossi and it comes in a limited edition pack that contains an exhaust pipe, 3 manifolds and 3 plugs, but wait for the price - RRP EUR750 (US$950)!!! This is a purchase you need to definitely clear with the wife first and perhaps even talk with your bank manager about it too and despite all that if you want one you’d probably want to put your name down now for one before they’re all gone.

Orcan Extreme motor cooler Categories - Orcan, Motors, Electric, Accessories, Products - comments closed
New from Orcan is this ‘extreme motor cooler’. Now anything with ‘extreme’ in the name, no matter how uninteresting the actual product is, is bound to draw ones attention and this one did just that (plus it looks cool in the picture). Apparently once fitted into your electric car, in little or no time it manages to not just cool your motor, but bring it down to ‘Winter in Finland’ levels of coolness and keep it there. I dont need to explain why thats a good thing. Available now for EUR 89.

Sirio Kanai Evo III STI spotted in the wild Categories - Sirio, Engines, Off Road, Products - comments closed
Buggy-Sport have the scoop on the new Sirio Kanai Evo III STI 3.5cc off road motor. Now we don’t know whose car this is in but the engine is seen in a Kyosho buggy and because of the timing we reckon it was taken at last weekends ‘GP International De Pierrefeu‘. Now Sirio employee and Kyosho racer Adrien Bertin was there so we are going to call it and say that this is his car….just like that (we’ll write a correction when found to be wrong :). By the way Adrien finished 9th after some problems in the final.
UPDATE: The car belonged to Stéphane Deroch and you can see him here with his car.
Also seen in the same car was a new Sirio pipe system, which you can be seen over at Buggy-Sport so check that out.

Video from Swiss Off road Nationals Categories - Video, Gas, Off Road, National, Racing - comments closed
Now, if you haven’t yet had your fill of off road buggies, here is a video from Robin Frischkopf from the 5th round of the Swiss Championships held back in September. Apart from the not very appealing country/rock music its a pretty good video, made at what seems to be a very rough track.
You can view the streaming video here.
