On Tuesday I reported about the news that Na terça-feira me relatou sobre a notícia de que a Technokit was to enter the 1/8th scale buggy market. Foi a entrar no mercado 1/8th escala buggy. At the time I noted that its a very flooded market and it would be bigger news if a manufacturer stated that they werent going to enter this class. Na época eu notar que seu um mercado muito inundadas e seria notícia se uma maior fabricante afirmou que eles werent vai entrar nesta categoria. Well i did a little research to follow up on that comment and was amazed to have come up with a list totalling 29 31 manufacturers (that i know of) that currently have, or are close to releasing, a 1/8th scale gas powered buggy. Pois bem fiz um pouco de pesquisa para dar seguimento a esse comentário, e foi ter espantado a apresentar uma lista totalizando 29 31 fabricantes (que eu sei de) que atualmente têm, ou estão perto de liberação, uma escala de gás 1/8th powered buggy . That is a huge number of players all fighting for the same piece of the pie, in a market that is becoming more crowded than a rush hour train in Bangladesh. Like i’ve said before, it’s easier to see whos left. Tal como eu disse antes, é mais fácil ver whos esquerda. So who is left to join? Por isso, que é deixado para aderir? Well from the main manufacturers you have Academy, Corally, Motonica, Schumacher, Serpent, Shepherd, Tamiya and Yokomo who have yet to join this class but these companies have very niche markets and are small to medium sized. Pois bem os principais fabricantes de você ter Academy, Corally, Motonica, Schumacher, Serpent, Shepherd, Tamiya e Yokomo que ainda têm que participar desta categoria, mas estas empresas têm nichos de mercado e são muito pequenas e médias. With the exception of Schumacher who distribute the Nanda buggy in Europe i havent heard of any cross over plans or intentions for these manufacturers to join the buggy brigade but perhaps they will, if anyone knows different then please drop me a mail. Com excepção do Schumacher que distribuir o NANDA buggy na Europa i havent ouvido de qualquer atravesse planos ou intenções para estes fabricantes a aderir à buggy brigada mas talvez eles, se alguém souber diferente, então por favor me soltar um e-mail.

Well the list below shows the current lineup of manufacturers and brands currently with a car which totals 27 and with the addition of Team Associated, who are currently testing their own car, that makes 28. Bem na lista abaixo mostra a atual linha de fabricantes e marcas actualmente com um carro que totaliza 27 e com a adição de Equipas associados, que estão actualmente a testar o seu próprio carro, que faz 28. Associated no doubt influenced by owner Thunder Tiger and after seeing long time rivals Team Losi enter the class successfully with their 8ight buggy perhaps they were also more driven to enter. So as an answer to the question that i posed in the headline of this report ‘Is the 1/8th Gas Buggy market flooded?’ my answer is a resounding yes, but maybe this segment will continue to grow and can accomodate all these buggies, who knows? Although it looks dramaticly the real story is there are less numbers manufacturers as described in your article that however in editorial point of view is written very nicely. Hong Nor makes the X1CR as manufacturer under its own name and is distibuted in USA as Jammin/OFNA. Hong X1CR como também não faz com que o fabricante com o seu nome e está em distibuted E.U.A. como Jammin / OFNA.
For those concernend OFNA is nothing more then a distributor who labels cars to their own brand name. Para aqueles concernend OFNA então não é nada mais que um distribuidor de automóveis rótulos sua própria marca.
Hong Nor is a so called OEM manufacturer. Hong Também não é um chamado OEM fabricante.
Same can be said for the Laro Diablo 5. Mesmo pode ser dito em relação ao Laro Diablo 5. If I am not mistaken this car is made in far east. Se não estou enganado este carro é feita no Extremo Oriente. Is sold in Italy as Laro Diablo 5 and in the USA as TEAM VERTEX. É vendido em Itália como Laro Diablo 5 e no E.U.A. TEAM como vértice. If I am not mistaken the orginal manufactuer is Himoto. Se não me engano o fabricante original é Himoto.
Same for the Nanda car. NANDA mesmo para o carro.
In England as Schumacher and USA as Power Racing. Na Inglaterra como Schumacher e E.U.A. como Power Racing.
Some Large ONROAD manufacturers are alredy having a good market in their own disipline they will not take the jump. Alguns grandes fabricantes ONROAD são alredy ter um bom mercado em seu próprio disipline eles não tomam o salto.
Remember that only the backyard bashers and rtr market is important for a manufacturer if they have done their home work correctly. Lembre-se que apenas o quintal bashers e rtr mercado é importante para que um fabricante se eles fizeram seu lar funcione corretamente.

I remember many years ago……GAS cars cost a bomb to start compared with EP……..now it is cheaper to run compared with EP or Gas on road….. Why it is winning according to my opinion….it jumps, crash, durable, sounds wicked, cheap to maintain, runs under all kind of conditions….rain or shine….plus the advantage of fuel and go. In Denmark where i drive 1/8 off-road, it is almost impossible to locate a spot where you can create a on-road track, but it is much more easy to locate a spot for a off-road track (and cheaper). Good point Paco, i was aware of a lot of branded OEM cars but its difficult to know which is which but of course despite the cars being similar or even just the same its still yet another choice for the customer. Paco bom ponto, eu tinha conhecimento de um lote de viaturas de marca OEM, mas a sua difícil saber o que é, mas é claro que apesar de os carros serem semelhantes ou até mesmo apenas a sua ainda mais uma escolha para o cliente. Perhaps its only hurting the bigger players in the market because people have more choice? Talvez sua única doer os maiores players no mercado, porque as pessoas têm uma maior escolha? Sangkei, i think you hit the nail on the head with regards the popularity of the class, it is great fun and you can go anywhere with them. Regarding innovation, apart from stronger materials and with the exception of Piktor and Losi and a handful of others, the technology in these cars has been pretty static for a while. No que diz respeito à inovação, para além do mais forte e de materiais, com excepção de Piktor e Losi e um punhado de outros, a tecnologia tem sido nestes carros bonita estática por algum tempo. In my opinion the OEM cars don’t really add to the innovation pool as all they seem to make is very basic copies of more successful cars. Na minha opinião o OEM carros realmente não contribuam para aumentar o pool inovação como todos eles se parecem muito básicas para fazer cópias de carros mais bem-sucedido.
Anders, this is true as you point out, its a very good thing in starting up clubs because of their go anywhere characteristics and so the barrier to entry for a club to start up is much smaller than that of gas on road for example. Anders, isso é verdade como você salienta, que o seu uma coisa muito boa no arranque dos clubes devido às suas características e por isso vá em qualquer lugar da barreira à entrada de um clube para o arranque é muito menor do que o do gás em relação à estrada, por exemplo.

Specter from Carson is made by an other Far east OEM manufacturer. Espectro de Carson é feita por um outro fabricante OEM Extremo Oriente. Carson originated in Germany is nothing more then an European version of OFNA! Carson teve origem na Alemanha, é nada mais que uma versão europeia da OFNA! ;-)

You go to a modelshop and buy as new bie what they adivse or what the you thinks is a freeking, bad ass car. Você vai ao modelshop e comprar um novo bie como o que eles adivse ou o que você pensa que está a um freeking, mau ass carro.
Brand addiction or quality is not importatn for that kind of customer as they have no knowledge yet what is going on. Brand vício ou a qualidade não é importatn para esse tipo de cliente que não tenha ainda conhecimento que se está a passar.
This is what I mean what is important for a manufacturer for producing RTR’s as much as possible and becoming more important as the market grows due to lower prices. Isto é o que eu quero dizer o que é importante para um fabricante para a produção da RTR, tanto quanto possível, e se tornando mais importante do que o mercado cresce devido aos preços mais baixos.
The hard core race market only consist of people knowing every inch of the hobby spending less as possible!!! O núcleo duro corrida mercado composto apenas de pessoas conhecendo cada centímetro do hobby que possível gastar menos!

I say what’s the point??? Eu digo qual é o ponto? How many of these companies are qualified or have qualified staff to design and build a better buggy than say a mugen or xray? Como muitas dessas empresas estão qualificados ou têm pessoal qualificado para projetar e construir um melhor do que dizer um buggy Mugen ou xray? The buggy market is easy to get into. O buggy mercado é fácil de obter em. Look at losi… they took a standard design, changed things around so it looked different and now everyone has to have it. Olhe para losi… eles tomaram uma norma design, coisas mudaram em torno de forma que ele parecia diferente, e agora toda a gente tem de ter-la. It’s our own fault fellas! What I dont understand is why so many of these new companies just copy a current car without doing anything new or original. Since the Kyosho Burns of the end of the 80’s the whole concept of a 1:8th nitro offroad buggy has reached a sort of ‘end form’. Uma vez que a Kyosho Burns do final dos anos 80 o conceito de uma 1:8 ª nitro buggy offroad chegou a uma espécie de "forma final". Now the innovations are minimal, and the design and looks of a 1:8th buggy is pretty standard, short: the look al the same, and the use all simular techniques. But Schumacher has for many years a Buggy in their programm: the Shumacher Swift! Mas Schumacher foi durante muitos anos um Buggy no seu programa: o Shumacher Swift! And Serpent has build a 1:8 buggy in the past; the Cobra in de mid 80’s. E tem Serpent construir um buggy 1:8, no passado, a Cobra, em meados de 80.

Bart, yes i know about the Serpent buggy but i was only mentioning the current state of play. Bart, sim eu sei sobre o Serpent buggy mas eu era apenas mencionar o actual estado da situação. What you say is very true and a point i missed, the cars have reached an ‘end form’. O que você diz é muito certo e eu perdi um ponto, os carros tenham atingido uma "forma final". What is needed for true innovation is rule changes, dont know what but it would stir it up in the design dept. O que é necessário para a verdadeira inovação é regra mudanças, mas nao sei o que ele iria se agitar-se na concepção aprofundado.
Kind of like in F1, in the first year of a major rule change the car manufactuers have to adapt and the cars appear different, but as the rule is in place longer the cars start to look the same. Mais ou menos como na F1, no primeiro ano de uma grande mudança da regra carro manufactuers têm de adaptar-se e os carros parecem diferentes, mas como a regra está em vigor há mais tempo os carros começam a ter a mesma aparência.

it don’t matter if there are 1000 different buggy out there. - Não importa se existem 1000 bugs diferente lá fora. the big brand still dominate as they are well know and have better team driver. as grandes marcas continuam a dominar uma vez que são bem conhece e tem melhor equipa condutor. leave other smaller brand in the state of no support by hobby shop. outros pequenos deixam marcas no estado de qualquer apoio por hobby shop. hence they will die out soon or later and forcing the consumer to purchase the top brand. daí eles vão morrer em breve ou mais tarde, e forçar o consumidor a comprar a marca top. the richer get rich, poor get poorer a obter mais ricos mais ricos, pobres mais pobres

The other manufacturer really took the risk just to have slight small pie of this out this very popular 1/8 scale market. Quando u ter o dinheiro, hey ir em frente. Get the current top drivers out from their current brand. Receba o actual top drivers para fora de sua atual marca. Give them more, double, if not triple what’re getting now. Dêem-lhes mais, duplos, triplos, se não what're recebendo agora. Hey, the higher the risk, the higher the income. Hey, quanto maior for o risco, maior será o rendimento. Thats basic financial management. But as for the discussion; the market is not flooded by far! Mas, como para a discussão, o mercado não está inundada de longe! As for ‘real’ 1/1 cars have many different brand, models and types, which are all one to one compareable with each other. Quanto a "verdadeira" 1 / 1 carros têm diversas marcas, modelos e tipos, que são todos um a um compareable uns com os outros. The basis is the same: four wheels, a steeringwheel and an engine. A base é a mesma: quatro rodas, um steeringwheel e um motor. Still the one custumer buy’s an Opel and the other a Ford the third an Alfa Romeo. Ainda assim a uma custumer comprar um Opel's eo outro um Ford, o terceiro um Alfa Romeo. The consumer asks for more choice and the (smart) producers give the consumer what they want: the consumer can choose from many brand, models and types! O consumidor pede mais liberdade de escolha e os (smart) os produtores de fornecer ao consumidor o que querem: o consumidor pode escolher entre várias marcas, modelos e tipos! So as long as the consumer market asks for more, the producers and shops will give them more! Portanto, enquanto o mercado consumidor pede para mais, os produtores e lojas dar-lhes-á muito mais!

That the chinese market will always win .in price ,but you concider what will happen when a western influence jumps into china with quality control and top quality materials and top quality factories he or she can trust and manufacturers a top quality buggy at half the price of taiwan and europe . all i can say is god help taiwan and europe if this happens .and from what i have been reading it seems companies like himoto racing ,cobra and nanda are nearly there with there western influence.
