D’hondt & Renaux win Benelux Champs D'Hondt & Renaux gagner Benelux Champs Categories - Events, Gas, On Road, International, Racing , trackback
Last weekend at the Roeselare track in Belgium saw the 2007 Benelux Championships take place for 1/8th and 1/10th scale classes. Le week-end dernier à la piste Roeselare en Belgique a vu le Benelux 2007 Championnats du lieu pour 1/8th échelle 1/10ème et classes. The event is open to drivers from within the Benelux - Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, and despite the predicted bad weather a lot of top drivers turned up for the event. L'événement est ouvert aux conducteurs à l'intérieur du Benelux - Belgique, Pays-Bas et le Luxembourg, et en dépit des prévisions de mauvais temps beaucoup de top pilotes se sont pour l'événement. Qualifying took place on Saturday in damp conditions and in the 1/8th scale class it was Steven Cuypers that claimed the pole position, heading a Serpent 1-2-3 with John Ermen in 2nd and Robin D’hondt in 3rd. De qualification a eu lieu le samedi dans des conditions humides et dans le 1/8th échelle classe il a été Steven Cuypers qui a coûté la pole position, la tête d'un serpent 1-2-3 avec John Ermen en 2ème et Robin D'Hondt en 3e. In the 1/10th scale class it was Xray driver Jilles Groskamp that took the pole position by only 3 tenths ahead of 2nd placed Jerome Renaux, racing for Kyosho. Dans l'échelle 1/10ème classe il a été Xray Jilles Groskamp conducteur qui a pris la pole position que de 3 dixièmes à venir du 2e placé Jérôme Renaux, la course pour Kyosho.

The finals on Sunday were held in dry but overcast conditions and in the 1/8th scale final, after Ermen, Ilia Van Gastel and Cuypers dropped out it was an easy win for Serpent racer D’hondt, who took the chequered flag with a 12 lap margin back to 2nd placed Gunther Van Staey racing for Kyosho, while 3rd spot fell to Motonica driver Tom Smolderen. La finale du dimanche ont eu lieu dans un endroit sec mais couvert conditions et dans la 1/8th échelle final, après Ermen, Ilia Van Gastel et Cuypers abandonné il a été une victoire facile pour Serpent coureur d'Hondt, qui ont pris le drapeau à damiers avec un 12 tour marge retour à la 2ème place Gunther Van Staey course pour Kyosho, tout en 3ème place est tombé à Motonica conducteur Tom Smolderen. In the 1/10th scale final, pole man Groskamp was not present due to leaving for home on Saturday thinking the weather would be very wet on the Sunday, as per all the predictions, but that wasn’t the case and the final went on without him.
