The first round of the Austrian Nationals were run at the 300m long Kirchberg track, under dry and sunny conditions. A primeira ronda dos cidadãos austríacos foram executados a 300m da pista longa Kirchberg, sob condições seco e ensolarado. Qualification saw the pole position go to Serpent racer Gerhard Kandelhart, with Xray driver Manuel Singer in 2nd and Stefan Mayerhofer in 3rd. At the start of the final, Pittner, Tomaschko and Kandelhart were able to quickly pull ahead of the main pack, while due to a driving mistake, Singer had an off and dropped back down the field.
