Kyosho MP9 TCD Gear set
Kyosho have announced the release of an optional TCD (Traction Control Differential) gear set for the Inferno MP9. The TCD gear set is designed to provide more balanced power delivery under acceleration by reducing differential action. Each of the TCD components are designed to create more friction when power is applied, which effectively increases power delivery to the wheels that have the most traction, unlike a standard differential where power is directed towards those that have less traction. An added benefit of the TCD gear set is that, when off power, it allows more differential action than a standard diff, which maximizes traction and steering response in corner entry. The TCD gear set is recommended for high-traction conditions and for tracks that have medium to high-speed, large radius corners. The TCD gear set can be used in the front differential for increased on-power steering; in the center differential for better rotation and acceleration out of tight corners, or in both positions. The gear set is not recommended for use in low-traction conditions.

are the kyosho TCD/LSDs adjustable? like the team losi and xray smart and active diffs?
if so, how is it adjusted?
i’m interested in getting them, but i just dunt understand how it works.

upon application of torque through the diff, the beveled gears are displaced into the blocks whereby impeeding them from rotating. If the internals of the diff are harder to turn, the diff acts as though there is very heave diff fluid inside. Under no power conditions, the gears are free to rotate as in a diff with no fluid due to the lightness of the thin lubricating fluid these diffs require. Do not use standard diff fluids in these type diffs. It is too heavy and will stop them from functioning properly. If you want a quick cheap alternative to the required lubricant, use ATF.

LOL … my SP1 has this as stock … MP9 is just an overexpensive piece of shit. It needs optional rear axles when using the 3° plate, the same issue like it was on the old car to prevent them from jumping out during a tough landing. Then there was the problem with the rear diff housing … LOL LOL LOL Kyosho … stay at home :-).

It works not half as well as the Tactyl from BBF, the new Fioroni or the optional one from Xray for just 80,- the whole diff. Just another weak Kyosho solution.

I was meaning the LSD diff. But nevertheless I would realy go for the tactyl2 diff(s) from BBF.

Some may think how you can know this already … we’ll see that it will end up like that. As all option parts from Kyosho … twice as expensive but not even half es effective.

This is not really much more than a LSD diff. From all “intelligent” diffs out there is this one from Kyosho the weakest one … again. I’m sooo glad to run the 808 … the way better car :-)
