2010 BeNeLux championships – Announcement
Model Race Genk vzw. in Belgium have been in touch to tell everyone about the BeNeLux championships which will be organized on their new track in Genk from the 24th to the 25th of July. This race is driven in 2 classes, 1/8th and 1/10th 200mm, following EFRA rules for the technical specifications and the race organization. The all new 287 meter long track is built to an internationals spec and so features all the facilities you should expect from such a venue. What do you expect from a brand new track?
The surface is smooth like a baby’s skin.
They could have choosen “sandpaper” surface..
But then you could complaint about tire wear…
The track will have grip on racedays, sugarwater will be applied.
Other action will be taken to “get a grip” on it…

During races grip is just fine, it will take some more racing on the new track to get the desired grip level all of the time.
Just take a look at some video’s on Youtube from the opening race, this finale was driven after the track had been wetted by some short heavy rain at noon…
I’m sure the track record of 15,31s will be broken in July!
