Mattia Pesenti wins Rd3 in Switzerland

This last weekend saw the 3rd round of Swiss 1/8th scale on road Championships run in Herblingen and we received this report from Mattia Pesenti. We arrived at the track on Friday at 12 and it was wet, but it dried very fast so at 3pm we could practice and I had a very good feeling with my Motonica. Unfortunately Saturday morning the rain came again and so I had to setup my car for the wet. I lost the first qualifier but in the second round I did a very good time placing me in 3rd position and as the rain stopped so the track become faster. However I couldn’t do better in the 3rd round but in the last one I put on different tyres and I was really fast and managed to take the pole position.

3. Shasa Lackner (Motonica – Murnan – Hot Race)
4. Thomas Henzi (Mugen – Max – UFRA)

On Sunday the rain stopped but it was cloudy and the drivers practiced on a dry track and my car was really fast and easy to drive. Unfortunately just before the Amateur final the rain came back again so I had to change all my setup. The rain did stop before the Expert final but the track was still wet so we put the Kiss rain tyres on. I started really fast and I was on the lead but Henzi was pushing me, also Lackner was driving very fast. After 25mins I switch to the ‘humid’ tyres and I was faster than Henzi so I managed to pull a large gap and take the win.
