Paolo Morganti wins Rd1 in Florida
The super competitive Florida race series started the 2010-11 Season last weekend at the newly paved and renovated Homestead RC Super Raceway host of next year’s 1/8th Scale Nitro Worlds in April. The 1/8th scale finals was a four car battle early on with Joaquin Desoto falling back a bit turning it into a 3 car battle. Sean Lue developed engine problems about halfway and so it was down to Paolo Morganti and Roniel Regalado. Morganti was clearly the fastest car but a tire stop and some unscheduled pit stops made for a very entertaining final as he pushed hard to reduce the gap. Morganti caught Regalado with about 5 minutes to go and never looked back. Desoto finished 3rd but was later found to be 15 grams too light, elevating Tony Rice to the final podium spot. TQ DJ Apolaro had problems and dropped out early.

Chris Grainger confirmed 2010 BRCA Champion
It has been confirmed that Chris Grainger has won his second consecutive BRCA National Modified Championship with Schumacher and the Mi4LP. The BRCA have confirmed that no result in the final round at West London this weekend can affect Chris’ current series lead. Chris has 2 wins at Mendip and Aldershot this year backed up with 2 second places at Cotswolds and Halifax showing awesome consistency. With a best 3 races to count from 5 this can’t be beaten. The season so far has seen awesomely close battles between Chris, the Speed Passion powered car of Elliot Harper and fast charging Olly Jefferies, in what could be classed as the closest and most exciting season for many years. With the final round at West London remaining this coming weekend the rest of the Schumacher team are looking to add to their points. Currently 4 Mi4LP’s lie in the top 10 of the Modified Championship and an amazing 5 cars in the top 10 of the Pro Stock championship, with the overall title in that class still up for grabs.
