Xray RX8 1/8th scale coming soon
Coming in 2011, Xray have released this teaser for their long expected entry into the 1/8th scale on road market. Named the RX8, we have no details as of yet but we can expect a full release in the near future.
Destined to take the “Formula-1″ of R/C car racing by storm, a new generation of purebred emerges from the XRAY stable. In the ultra-high speed world of 1/8 on-road racing, the secret to success lays in harnessing raw power lap after lap, slicing from corner to corner and through traffic with the skill and precision of a fighter pilot, eating up straights in the merest fractions of seconds. Welcome the new XRAY RX8 Competition 1/8 on-road car.

I wonder what Mazda will say about the name of this car? Way back in the day, Traxxas had to change the name of their Talon to TRX-1 because Talon was the name of the Eagle Talon full size car. Now Xray has the Mazda/Xray RX8

That’s ironic.. after the CAD drawings of the Capricorn car were released, I was thinking- “But Xray didn’t have a car for them the copy..??” Guess I was wrong. :)

If this car will dominate the world like the NT1 did and does then the competition like Kyosho, Serpent, Motonica and Shepherd need to come with an new car, too, if they want or not … hehehe.

Ref John: “wrong name RX8 stands for rally cross 8″
Hmmnn. Perhaps it will spend more time off-road than on. No, I’m certain it will be a very competitive car. Incidentally, I recall Xray make some machined parts for Serpent. It’s long over due.

Correction Hudy do! But I’m sure there was some connection via Hudy nonetheless when Xray used to feature on the Serpent site. Then they disassociated themselves.
