Sadikin Sutrisno wins Rd3 of Indonesian Nats

The 3rd round of 1/8 Indonesian National Championship 2011 was held in JITC track in Senayan last weekend. With cloudy weather, the rain poured at the middle of heat 1 and so the organizer had to re-run the qualifying round when the track had dried. It was Teddy Syach took the TQ spot with his Mugen MRX5, with 20 laps @ 5.14 followed by Sadikin Sutrisno, driving an Xray RX8 with 20 laps @ 5.16. Provisional standings leader, Bowie Ginting (Xray RX8) was 3rd, coming so close to reaching 20 laps with 19 laps @ 5.00. Hendry and Toni Kundjung, both ran Mugen MRX5, completed the top 5 qualifying result.

3. Bowie Ginting – 19 laps @ 5.00
4. Hendry – 19 laps @ 5.06
5. Toni Kundjung – 19 laps @ 5.08

The Final system was simple christmas tree with 10 drivers competed in main C to seeded for B Main. It was Adi Riyadi (Shepherd), Handoyo (Mugen), Arya Ridho (Mugen), Titan (Mugen) and Eka (Mugen) get their position for main B. In Main B, it was young ace Arya Ridho who making his comeback, took the early lead. Unfortunately his car spun off which let Suwardi Suliandy take his Xray to the B-Main win. 5 drivers who bumped up to Grand final are Suwardi Suliandy (Xray), Arya Ridho (Mugen), Usman Halim (Xray), Heri Susanto (Xray) and Akok Wijaya (Mugen).

The main final was very competitive. Pole man, Teddy Syach took the early lead. Unfortunately, his engine failed on the 6th minute meaning he was out of the race. It was tight battle for 1st place between the two Xray drivers, Sadikin and Bowie. Separated by only 2 seconds, Bowie managed to push hard and on 25 minutes, only 1 second separated them. The lead changed quite a lot on 30 minutes caused by different fuel stop strategy between Sadikin and Bowie. Sadikin had to do his fuel stop earlier than Bowie. The gap between them was never larger than 2,8 seconds the entire race. It was the end for Arya Ridho since his receiver battery failed on the 36th minute. The climax was on 43th minute where Sadikin had his last fuel stop. Bowie had a big chance to take the lead but his tyres were gone, caused by pushing hard for Sadikin. At the end, Sadikin won the race with 168 laps followed by Bowie with 167 laps. Toni Kundjung took the last minute 3rd place position from Suwardi Suliandy who finished 4th. Heri Susanto completed the top 5.
