JConcepts Super Cup final round report

The final round of the JConcepts Super Cup 2011 season was host at Daytona, FL during the Thanksgiving weekend and was the decider of the series winner in many classes. Due to the interesting characteristic of the Daytona track it causes many drivers to struggle. The track quickly builds up a groove during the practice day but still didn’t have traction like other FL track, due to the amount of sand. Many drivers were fighting for traction while eating tires like sandpaper. Drivers needed to adapt quickly in order to finish races making this one of the hardest track conditions to race on.

In Pro 2 Stock Short Course, The Team Associated/ JConcepts driver Daimon Borkowicz using his SC10 dominated the field. His TQ time was the time to beat from the start; Daimon was also the only driver with a 14 lap pace. During the main, Daimon once again destroyed his competition with about half a lap lead over 2nd place Carl Lebo & point contender Dave Bowser.

In Pro 2 Mod Short Course, The Team Kyosho/ AKA driver Ryan Eckert did the same thing as Daimon, taking advantage of his TQ position to checkout early in the race, He was able maintain a comfortable lead while the battle continued for 2nd between Paul Wynn & Zack Genova. Zack had the faster car, but his mistake each time cost him to fall back. But in the end, he was able to get it together & finish ahead of Paul Wynn for 2nd.

In Pro4 Short Course, The battle for TQ was between 4 drivers, Christopher Viesins, Ricky Layman, Bobby Smith and Felix Law. All 4 drivers were all on TQ pace during qualifying but in the end, the Clash warm up TQ, Christopher Viesins driving the Team Associated/JConcepts SC10 was able hold of Felix Law and take the TQ by 2 second. During the A main, Christopher took advantage of the TQ while Felix Law made a mistake in the 2nd turn & got overtaken by Bobby Smith. Felix Law was quickly able find an opening & make a move back on 2nd, After 2 laps in, Chris made a mistake in the first triple, this mistake caused him to fall back to 3rd place, while Bobby Smith tried to hunt down Felix. A few laps later, Ricky Layman started pick up his pace, to battle against Christopher. Ricky using his special move at the table double, displaying his Revtech Trinity powered SCT-E by tripling that back section. Meanwhile, the leader Felix Law started to put some distance from 2nd place, but he made a mistake & flipped over after the table double. Now, Bobby Smith was leading by about 2 second ahead of Felix. Quickly after, due to the sudden gust of wind, Felix made another mistake at the triple double, Ricky quickly take advantage of Felix’s mistake, overtaking him for 2nd. In the last minute Ricky & Felix weren’t far back from Bobby due to lapped traffic. Now Felix Law turned it up, making an inside move on Ricky & following closely behind Bobby. Bobby didn’t give a easy fight against Felix, but in the end, Felix was able to overtake Bobby at the u turn & won the race by a little less than 2 second, while Ricky finish 3nd & Christopher finished 4th.
