Team Wild 13 win 24h race in Luxembourg

Since 1999, ETS, EOS & ENS front man Uwe Rheinard has organized his legendary 24h race for 1:10 electric rc cars. Since the beginning Uwe trusted in the Tamiya-plastic-chassis, starting with FWD Chassis FF01 and up to today with the TT01 chassis. Only for one year the teams had to use a foreign car, but at the end it showed, that Tamiya chassis was the best choice. from the start teams from Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Austria and Luxembourg traveled to five different tracks in Germany to enjoy that awesome endurance-race. A maximum of 7 drivers in each team is allowed which means that every year from 112 up to 168 drivers travel hundreds of kilometers to be part of the longest night in the RC Car scene.

24h-Track

This year the race visited the very nice and well known Luxembourg track. The local club LMCC prepared everything for a night race and with Hartmut Wenzel and timing-software MyRCM, everything was perfectly under control. On Saturday morning at 8:00am, drivers got the last instructions from Uwe Rheinard, followed by the handout of the Tamiya TT 01 kits incl. tuning parts and the ‘race’ began with the first step building the chassis. After some practice laps, all cars came together at ‘Parque Fermé’ for technical inspection, done by one driver per team.

All the cars have the same tuning parts, bodies, tires, motors and batteries and still use brushed motors from the Carson cup, but for next year they will switch to a brushless-combo.

Conrad electronic supported the event with their 4000mAh Hard case LiPo batteries which worked absolutely brilliantly without any problems and all teams got 5 packs for the complete event. Ride 36 was the tyre choice, which seems to be the best tyre at the moment. All teams used only 2 sets for these 24 hours.

At exactly 1:00pm, Jeff Mersch from the local Club started the race with a LeMans-start. It´s a fantastic picture, when so many cars are on the track with the same Nissan GTR bodies in different race-designs. An important point in the rules is, that all cars need lights in the night. Very bright LED lights in all cars gives in the darkness give a new feeling for every racer.

This year, the Falken-GTR won with 2910 laps, a distance of 902 km, which is unbelievable for a simple plastic-chassis like our Tamiya TT 01.
