2013/14 Mibosport Cup Rd1 – Report
The first out of seven races of the 2013/14 Mibosport Cup attracted over 130 drivers from six countries including some of the World’s top drivers such as Ronald Völker, Marc Rheinard, Marc Fischer and Zdenko Kunák. The race was held in a variety of electric classes such as 2WD and 4WD buggy, Formula, Yokomo GT, Stock LRP and Modified TC. In the Touring Car Modified class all qualifiers and finals went to Yokomo team driver Ronald Völker. Second overall became Marc Fischer (Serpent) in front of Marc Rheinard (Tamiya). A great battle was on for fourth place between Zdenko Kunak and Rene Klockner with the better end for Zdenko.
After some rule changes over the Summer the Stock LRP 17.5T class became very popular now. First place went to the very fast Philipp Neudinger (Awesomatix) who won in front of the two Yokomo drivers Adam Dubák alias Dubidesign and Oskar Malatinsky. Interestingly Adam used new sport level BD7 RS version to grab the runner-up spot.
TQ in the Formula class went to Toni Stangl in front of ETS champion Herbert Weber. The finals were a bit of a disaster for Toni who only came in sixth overall. The win went to Herbert Weber from Austria. Third on the podium Thomas Bauer in front of the best Czech driver Mira Jurenka.
As usual the Yokomo GT class attracted a good amount of drivers and the category was won by Ladislav Mlcak in front of Igor Vlahovič. The podium was completed by the only girl on the entry list, Marketa Vitamvasova who was handed a brand new Yokomo BD7 RS chassis by Yokomo’s Yukijiro Umino later on.
Once again the 2WD buggy class proofed to be very popular with 30 drivers attending. Zdenko Kunak took TQ and the overall win on his first buggy race on carpet. The second place went to Hungary’s Gabor Forrai with last year’s Mibosport Cup 2WD champion Andreas Janda from Austria completing the podium. Radek Flek from the Czech Republic came in fourth.
In the 4WD buggy class Ales Bayer was the clear favourite and finished in first place. Finishing second and third respectively were Ondrej Vicha and Kuba Wawrzkiewicz.
Best Junior race became Radek Voda who received an original body from Marc Rheinard.
