Jörn Neumann sweeps Petit RC Race

The 8th Annual Petit Race was held this past weekend in Dortmund, Germany. This race was part of the largest Toy Fair in Europe with over 88,000 consumers passing by over 5 days. This years track layout was very flowing and contained many difficult jump sections. Drivers from Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Poland made the trip for this great event.

The race started with free practice on Friday until 2pm, followed by 2 rounds of controlled practice for each of the 4 classes. Team Orion’s Jörn Neumann was able to dominate from the beginning by setting the pace in all 3 classes he entered. Saturday was 2WD Modified Buggy qualifying and finals. 4 Rounds of FTD qualifying and triple A-mains. Jörn again set the pace in each round. The triple A-mains had a different format where the race length would be changed to 7-minutes long instead of 5-minutes from qualifying. Jörn was able to check out in A1 and A2 to win his first Championship for the weekend. Team Orion’s Christopher Krapp finished a very respectable 2nd overall.

On Sunday, it was 4WD Modified Buggy and 4×4 Modified Short Course time. Again FTD qualifying was used in 4WD Modified Buggy, but not in the 4×4 Modified Short Course class. 4×4 Modified Short Course was ran in the “Reedy Race style format“ with 7 rounds of racing using the motocross style start. In 4WD Modified Buggy, Jörn again set the pace in each round qualifying. The finals showed again the amazing speed of Jörn as he easily won A1 and A2 to wrap up his 2nd Championship for the weekend with his Team Orion teammate Christopher Krapp finishing 2nd.

4×4 Modified Short Course was the last race of the day and Jörn was able to win 6 rounds to get his 3rd Championship for the weekend.
