Robert Gustafsson wins 40+ buggy Euros

The EFRA 40+ Nitro Buggy European Championships took place at the WMW track in Fehring, Austria. The event was affected by rainy weather conditions right from the start of the first practice session. As the race went on it soon became clear that JQ Products’ Robert Gustafsson would be the man to beat this year. In the qualifiers Robert was in a fight with Costas Agrafiotis. Both TQ’d two qualifying rounds but in the end it was Gustav who grabbed the prestigious TQ spot.

In the final, Robert started from pole position after winning the semifinals and he got a clean start but crashed on lap 2, allowing two drivers to slip through. A few laps later Robert got the lead again and inched away slowly from the field and after the shortened 30 minute main the Swede passed the finish line as the 40+ Senior EFRA European Champion 2014 in front of runner-up Wolfgang Heusel and Christian Hubert, who completed the top 3 result.
