Søren Boy Holst wins Rd4 of Danish TC Nats

The 4th round of the Danish electric outdoor Championships was run at the Naestved track, a big nitro track. In the Pro-stock class, run with 13.5T motor and ESC combo kit and same gear ratio, it was Soeren Boy Holst who took the overall win after some really close racing. The battle in top was on between three drivers, Caspar Morgen who dominated the practice on Saturday, Nicolai Nielsen and Soeren Boy Holst. Saturday evening was full of showers, so the track was quite damp Sunday morning, but got better during the day. Nicolai won the first round of qualifying with Caspar on 2nd place and Soeren on 3rd.

Caspar won the second round with Soeren on 2nd closely followed by Nicolai on 3rd. – Before the third and last round Soeren decided to make a setup change as the car was pretty tail happy and difficult to drive. That really paid off, and since the track also got better, Soeren could grab the TQ since all 3 drivers had a 1st and 2nd place, but Soeren had the fastest 1st place. Caspar finished 2nd and Nicolai 3rd, what would also be the starting order for the finals:

Pro-Stock qualifying top 5
1. Søren Boy Holst – T.O.P. Sabre S4
2. Caspar Morgen – Tamiya
3. Nicolai Nielsen – Serpent
4. Patrick Danielsen – Xray
5. Stefan Finnich – Xray

As the speed of the cars are almost the same, the TQ spot was very important, in order to defend position. A perfect start of the first final with Caspar 2m behind the rear end of Soeren, followed by Nicolai. After 6 laps Nicolai’s front tires started to heat up, and he slowly lost the contact with the guys in front, but Caspar continued to fight with Soeren up front. It was a very close battle from start to finish, never more than 5m between the two, but at the very last lap, Caspar decided to try a kamikaze move through the chicane before the finish line, planting the front of his car in the side of Soeren’s TOP. Soeren won the first final with only 0,019 second!

The second A final also started without any crashes, with top 3 pulling away from the rest of the field. This time Nicolai lost the contact a little faster and had his own race from start to finish. In front Caspar made a small mistake on the 6th lap losing a second to Soeren, but on 9th lap Soeren made the same mistake and give it back, so once again it was very close and fair racing. Soeren had a few meters more this time, so Caspar never got the chance to go for a pass. They finished like they started.

As Soeren won the first two finals and was tired from a late party the day before, he decided to relax and let the other guys decide who should go home with the 2nd place overall. Nicolai needed a win over Caspar, but with 0,4 sec slower pr lap and some mistakes, he ended on 5th place in the final, and that could actually take him off the podium. Caspar cruised to victory followed by Patrick who fought all the way with Jack Holger right in his tail.

Pro-Stock overall result top 5:
1. Søren Boy Holst – T.O.P. Sabre S4
2. Caspar Morgen – Tamiya
3. Nicolai Nielsen – Serpent
4. Patrick Danielsen – Xray
