JConcepts Challenge Rd5 – Report

The 5th round of the Norwegian JConcepts Challenge was held at Mustit RC with the track being run in its normal fashion this time. Saturday started out with 4WD Buggy and 4WD Short Course with Daniel Kobbevik sitting on TQ in both classes. Daniel then went on to win the first two Short Course A-mains to take the overall win early. The race then was on for the runner-up spot with Dag Andre Karlstad ultimately grabbing the 2nd spot from Robert Stormyrbakken in 3rd.

In 4WD Buggy, Daniel took the first A-final, while leg 2 was won by Lars Erik Mo. In the third and decisive final Daniel fought back and he took a convincing victory to grab the second overall win of the weekend.

Sunday saw the running of 4WD 1/8 Light Buggy, 2WD Buggy and 2WD Truck. The 1/8th class so far had Oyvind Fast Olsen showing incredible speed and confidence and round 5 was no exception. Oyvind took the TQ and he secured the day’s win already after the second final. Lars Erik Mo came in 2nd and Eskil Hoddo rounded out the top 3.

In 2WD Buggy it was Daniel Kobbevik who sat on TQ in front of Joakim Nicolaysen, and after the second A-main, Daniel had secured his third win of the weekend. Jonas Leversby had to settle for 3rd the second time in a row.

2WD Truck saw Joakim taking the TQ but it was Daniel who won the opening final. Joakim fought back in leg 2 only to see Daniel taking the win in A3 for the overall win. Jon Dahlbo rounded out the podium. With his strong performance at round 5 Daniel now is a hot candidate to take the overall wins in four classes while Oyvind Fast Olsen already secured the title in the 1/8th Light Buggy class.
