Mibosport Cup 2014/15 – Review

The 2014/15 Mibosport Cup attracted a total of 400 racers with 209 drivers in the electric on-road and 191 drivers in the electric off-road classes. Drivers from seven different countries including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Poland, Great Britain and Estonia raced for the title honours with round 4 seeing the largest number of entries with a total of 198 drivers of which 108 attended in the off-road classes. A total of 107 driver attended in the on-road classes at round 3 and from round 4 on the off-road category always attracted more drivers than the on-road classes. In round 5 2WD Buggy saw the largest number of competitors this season with a total of 59 drivers while the Touring Car Modified class was the most balanced in terms of participation.


The highest number of 402 points was scored by René Kölbel, who also belongs to the most successful drivers winning the Formula and Stock LRP classes. Kaja Novotny was the second most successful driver as he won the 2WD Buggy and 4WD Buggy classes. Jiri Rybak was the only driver who attended four different classes in a single event, when he started in the Touring Car Modified, Stock LRP, 2WD Buggy and 4WD Buggy classes.

A total of 71 drivers participated in the Touring Car Modified class during the season with 25 drivers attending four events and more. Kuba Simurda defended his title in the series over his rival Jiri Vysin who won the third round. With the consistent performance, Dominic Vogl secured the overall 3rd place.

86 drivers overall attended the Stock LRP class with 18 drivers participating at four events and more. René Kölbel won the first two races and it looked like he was going to gain the overall victory easily but then he missed round 4 and let Jürgen Horn taking the victory. Jürgen won even the last race but René managed to finish in 3rd and with the profit of 97 points he became the overall winner of the series ahead of Jürgen Horn and young Slovakian driver Oliver Havranek.

Touring Car Stock top 3:
1. René Kölbel – 394 points
2. Jürgen Horn – 393
3. Oliver Havranek – 390

A total of 28 drivers participated in the Formula class, with four drivers attending four events and more. René Kölbel led the standings after three events, when he won twice and secured a single 2nd place. He missed the fourth event, and he finished 2nd behind Herbert Weber in the final round to take the overall win from Mario Sailer and Hannes Zuckerstätter.

The 1/12th scale class saw a total of 24 drivers competing with four drivers participating in four events and more. Even though Igor Liptak did not win any of the races, he managed to collect the most points to take the overall win ahead of Ales Pelikan and Christian Schiff.

A total of 99 drivers participated in the 2WD Buggy class with 29 drivers attending four events and more. Except the guests who took part in one or two events, it was a battle between Radek Flek and Kaja Novotny from the very beginning. They went into the final round almost tie on points as it was clear Radek’s 93 points will be crossed out. Radek’s qualifying for the fifth race did not went well and he started behind Kaja Novotny who took the 2nd place behind Michal Orlowski and he defeated Radek with the difference of a single point. The 3rd place overall went to Marcel Rekettye.

A total of 92 drivers attended the 4WD Buggy class with 25 drivers participating in four events and more. In the first round, Kaja Novotny was beaten by Martin Bayer, he missed the second round and dominantly won the last three races to take the overall title ahead of Marcel Rekettye and Maximilian Hauenschild.
