Austrian Electric On-road Nationals Rd5 – Report

Round five of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held in Laa an der Thaya and hosted by the Mod RaceLaa04 club. In the Touring Modified class Patrick Gollner took the TQ from team mate Manuel Gremlica and Dominic Vogl. The finals then were a pretty easy affair for the pole position holder and with flawless races he took the overall win in front of the fighting duo of Dominic and Manual. At the end Dominic would prevail to take the runner-up spot from Manuel.

The Stock class qualifying was dominated by the fight between Nico Haider and Philipp Neudinger. Philipp would take the opening qualifier in front of Nico but the latter would fight back as he won the following three qualifiers to grab the overall TQ from Philipp Neudinger and Christian Völker. The finals promised some close racing and Nico got under a lot of pressure of Philipp but the latter would suffer from a cooked motor in A1 and A2, allowing Nico to take wins and with them the overall victory with one leg to spare. Christian Völker and Manfred Pasch would also benefit from Philipp’s problems, taking the remaining two podium spots.

In the Formula class Andreas Stiebel was the man to beat this weekend. He TQed and won the round without making any mistake. Rene Kronsteiner finished second and Thomas Dvorsky took the final podium spot.
