Akio Sobue sweeps Speed King Tour Rd6

Round six of the Japanese-based Speed King Tour was held at the RC Stadium Sodegaura track in the Chiba prefecture. The asphalt track was renewed in time for the event and it also received a new layout, making for equal conditions for both locals and guest drivers. Current Touring Modified points leader, Tamiya’s Akio Sobe showed his speed right from the start of the practice and he would take an easy TQ after the qualifiers. Yokomo driver Yugo Nagashima tried to catch Akio but had to settle for second.


At the start of the A-main Akio took of with no problem and he would control a small gap on the hard charging Yugo to bring home the win with a 0.6s margin on runner-up Nagashima while also scoring the fastest lap of the race. ARC driver Yusuke Goto finished on a lucky third place.

In the Stock class it was Kiyoto Kanno (Xray) who brought home the win at round six of the championship. The final round of the Speed King Tour will be held at the Crest Speedway carpet track on the 13th of November.
