Czech National 1/10 Buggy Championship Rd6 – Report

The sixth and final round of Czech 1/10th Buggy national championship was held this past weekend in Velke Opatovice. Saturday’s qualifying started out wet and it was Ales Bidovsky who made the best out of the changing conditions by taking the TQ from Xray team mate Kaja Novotny. In the 4WD class Kaja was a class of his own as he TQed all rounds to grab the overall TQ from Alex Bidovsky and Marek Schiller (PR).

With some setup changes in time for the triple A-mains Kaja was able to keep up with Ales who would still take the win in the opening leg. A2 and Kaja suffered from a defective transponder with Marek taking the win meaning the decision for the overall win would be shifted to the third and final A-main. The leg then saw Kaja taking a commanding win to take the overall victory from Marek and top qualifier Ales who had to settle for third.

The 4WD finals were a pretty straight forward affair for the TQ holder as Kaja easily won A1 and A2 by more than a lap to take the day’s win from Max Gotzl in second and Ales Bidovsky in third.

With round six being the final race also the overall champions would be crowned with Kaja Novotny taking a double title. Marek Schiller and Ales Bidovsky made up the podium in 2WD with the two swapping positions on the 4WD podium. The 2WD Youth Champion title went to TLR driver David Krizak, Ales Bidovsky grabbed the Junior title and Ivo Viktorin (PR) snatched the 40+ title.

2WD top 3 overall:
1. Kaja Novotny – Xray
2. Marek Schiller – PR
3. Ales Bidovsky – Xray

In 4WD it was Max Götzl (Xray) who took the Youth title while Ales Bidovsky (Xray) and Tony Hybler grabbed the Junior and 40+ titles respectively.
