Stephen Lander successful at BRCA Formula finale

Stephen Lander successful at BRCA Formula finale

Last weekend saw the final round of the BRCA Outdoor Formula National Championship at the open and flowing Halifax circuit. After a dry practice day on the Saturday, rain overnight ensured a slippery start to qualifying with drivers having to adapt their cars to the wet but drying conditions throughout the four qualifying rounds. With the already crowned Championship winner Luke Lee taking pole position it was the hard charging duo of Stephen Lander and James Wright that lined up second and third respectively.

In the first of the two leg A finals Stephen made an early move to take the lead in the second corner and with a consistent controlled drive took the win with James Wright taking second. The second final had a closer first lap with Luke Lee leading off, with a few changes of place Stephen dropped down the order to seventh and although charging through the field setting the fastest laps of the day was unable to catch the leaders and finished third, James Wright finished second and the second leg winner was Gonzalo Garcia-Casad. Combined results gave Stephen Lander the overall win with team-mate James Wright in second and Jack Sansom took third with consistent finishes in both legs.
