Völker & Asendorf dominate 2017 GP3F

The 2017 edition of the Grand Prix des 3 Frontieres was hosted by the MRC Longwy club over the weekend. The event usually attracts some of the fastest european drivers and this year’s edition did again not disappoint. In the premier Touring Modified category it was the Yokomo duo of Ronald Völker and Christopher Krapp that set the pace with Ronald making a clean sweep to take the TQ from Christopher while Marc Rheinard came in third in front of Yannic Prümper (VBC) and Marco Kaufmann (Xray).

In the opening A-final Ronald was able to conserve his qualifying performance while Christopher only scored a seventh place, allowing Marc Rheinard to grab the 2 spot from Dionys Stadler. A2 again saw Ronald out in front with Marc in second, some 1.5 seconds down. Christopher had a better run and ended the encounter in third, some four seconds shy of Marc. In A3 the Ronald Show continued and he made a clean sweep to take the overall win with Marc in second both in the leg and overall. Christopher had to settle for third in the final main, meaning he would also secure himself the final podium spot from Dionys Stadler (Xray) and Elliott Harper (Schumacher).

In the Touring Stock 10.5 class, that attracted nearly 110 drivers, It was Noah Asendorf who set the pace from Max Mächler and Alexandre Duchet. The finals saw Noah Asendorf (Xray) continue to dominate and with wins in A1 and A2 he grabbed the overall win with one leg to spare. Two second place finished and a win in A3, that Noah sat out, allowed Awesomatix’s Max Mächler to take the overall runner-up spot from Valentin Hettrich (Yokomo) in third.
