Bowie Ginting wins at Indonesian On-road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the Indonesian Electric On-road National Championship was held at the Giant Arena in Banjarmasin on Borneo Island. An attractively huge and technical layout attracted a total of 65 drivers to competed in the 1/10th Modified and FWD classes. In the Touring Modified category, Christian Mamesah would take Q1 while in Q2 Bowie Ginting stroke back following some technical issues in the opening qualifier. In the third and final qualifier Bowie sealed his overall TQ with his second 17-laps run.

In A1 Bowie took an easy win with a new lap record of 17.756s, taking profit of high traction conditions. About 14 seconds down Chandra and Christian came in second and third. The second A-main was delayed due to rain in the lower finals and in much lower grip conditions, Bowie again took a popular win to wrap up the overall with Rizki Azhari and Suwardi coming in second and third in the leg. For A3 Bowie decided to use the run for practice and behind him Arya Seta and Christian fought for the runner up spot. Up front Bowie took the win a lap ahead of Arya and Christian who swapped positions on the final lap.

9. Ivan Hartono – Yokomo/Hobbywing
10.Robert Hendrawan – Xray/Orca

In the FWD class the battle for the TQ was on between Christian and Izzah and by winning Q2 and Q3 Izzah would take the pole position for the finals while Christian had to settle for second. In the finals Muhammad Izzah (VBC Racing) continued to dominate, taking the overall win from Christian Mamesah (Serpent) in second and Muhammad Hijrah (Race Opt-MTS) third.
