Ryan Maifield doubles at 2017 Silver State

The 2017 Silver State race was held this past weekend at RC Tracks of Las Vegas, home of last year’s IFMAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy World Championship. As usual the event attracted most of the country’s top drivers and also guest from abroad. In the premier Pro Nitro Buggy class the race for the overall TQ was on between Dakotah Phend (TLR) , Ty Tessmann (Xray) and Ryan Maifield (Mugen) with all three scoring round TQs. Ultimately Dakotah would prevail, taking the TQ from Ty and Ryan. After an eventful 45-minute main, that saw Phend out in the lead in the opening stages but mistakes throughout the field would mix things up, Maifield would bring home the win by one lap from Ty Tessmann and two laps in front of HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk while pole sitter Phend suffered from parts failure in the closing stages.

Pro Buggy final results:

Open Electric Buggy was swept by Ryan Maifield (Mugen) who took the TQ after winning qualifying round two and three from Ty Tessmann (Xray) second and Ryan Lutz (Tekno) third. The A-main then again had Ryan coming out on top of things with Dakotah Phend (TLR) taking a popular second, coming from the 5 spot on the grid while David Ronnefalk (HB Racing) moved one place up to third overall.

In Pro Truggy Ryan Maifield (Mugen) looked to take his third title of the weekend after coming out on top after the qualifiers but it wasn’t to be as after another entertaining main with tones of crashes, mishaps and issues for the drivers, Tekno’s Ryan Lutz would bring home the hardware from Xray’s Ty Tessmann with pole sitter Ryan Maifield, who suffered a flame out, having to settle for third overall.
