Swiss Indoor Championship Rd1 – Report

Round 1 of the Swiss Indoor Championship was held at the Fama model exhibition in Bulle in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The event draw a total of 80 drivers from Germany, France and Switzerland and in the Touring Modified class the qualifiers were an extremely close affair between Michele Manzo and Simon Kurzbuch. In the end it was Michele with the TQ from Fabian Widmer and Simon Kurzbuch. Michele then also made a clean sweep in the finals to take the overall win while behind him the race for the runner-up spot was on between Fabian and Simon. Ultimately it was Fabian who would prevail, taking the overall 2nd place on the podium.

In ProStock Noah Asendorf laid down a very strong performance to secure the TQ in front of Berthoud Briac and Kerim Kahraman. By winning two of the three finals Noah would also seal the overall win from Kerim and a very strong Toyin Brunold.

The Formula 1 category attracted 17 drivers from different countries and it was Daniel Ghirlanda with the TQ and win with very fair and clean runs. Michael Häuptli and Luca Moscioni would round out the top 3 result. In 1/12th scale it was Khounmy Bui with the TQ and win in front of Carl Friedrich Groessel and Erol Sehirtoy. Finally in Superstock 10.5T open, Briac Berthoud snatched the TQ and win from Darco Meister and Kevin Zwahlen.
