2018 DOG race China – Report

The 2018 DOG race was held at the Feiteng outdoor track in Guangzhou, China with local drivers as well as guest from Hong Kong in attendance. Drizzle on Sunday morning meant the start of the race was delayed by about an hour but once things got underway it was Alfred Lao Min Hao who lead the way in the Touring Modified class from young Ma Hao Ran in 2nd. The opening A-main was clearly won by Alfred who in turn had some difficulties with backmarkers in A2 that was won by Ma Hao Ran. So the final main would decide the overall result and in the end it was Alfred Lao Min Hao with the win from Ma Hao Ran and Chan Chau Man in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring class it was Chan Chau Man from Hong Kong with the TQ from Ma Hao Ran and Alfred Lao Min Hao. Front the start of the main final it was Chan Chau Man in the lead with the top 3 staying in qualifying order until the 20-minute mark when the lead changed and things would further mix up when the leader had to retire at the 30-minute mark. This promoted Ma Hao Ran into the lead that he would hold onto until the checkered flag. Chan Chau Man came in 2nd and Alfred Lao Min Ho snatched a lucky 3rd place after a somewhat problematic 1-hour main as he was hampered by a poorly tuned engine.
