Xray NT1 2018 1/10th 200mm nitro on-road kit

Xray have introduced the latest incarnation of their IFMAR Worlds and EFRA European Championship winning NT1 200mm nitro platform, the NT1 2018. The kit features some subtle refinements in the chassis and rear bulkhead and layshaft mount area, mostly to adapt the chassis to a full range of grip conditions even better. The 2018 specification kit is based off of a redesigned 7075-T6 aluminium chassis that features a larger front opening for improved flex, with a milled-out pocket taking an optional alloy brace that has influence on the overall steering response and cornering speed.

Using the brace will improve steering while leaving it away is making the car easier to drive while improving forward traction at the same time.

Next up are the all-new rear layshaft bulkheads that allow the use of bracket bushings that connect the layshaft bulkheads and the rear bulkheads to reinforce the entire rear suspension, improving the car in high-traction conditions. Without the bracket bushings, the car has more traction which is recommended for low-traction conditions. The new bulkheads are an integral part of the chassis’ Multi-Flex system that offers a variety of choices for different flex adjustment.

Also new is the redesigned rear graphite stiffener brace that connects the rear layshaft bulkheads and radio plate mount, allowing easier engine removal. The rear graphite stiffener – made from 2mm graphite material – was designed to enhance the flex characteristics around the engine area. The brace is mounted on the right side between the 2-speed bulkhead and the aluminium radio plate mount. The graphite stiffener provides optimised flex characteristics and can be easily removed when extra steering is needed. An optional rear stiffener link is available to offer an in-between stiffness setting.

Last but not least comes the redesigned graphite brace for the rear bulkheads that makes for easier access to the engine screws. The brace allows for soft and stiff settings with the soft setting – the brace is not used – increases flex of the rear chassis area, generating more rear traction. This setup is recommended for low-traction tracks, or races with spec hard or large tyres. Using the brace makes for a stiffer chassis, which reduces flex of the area and improves on-power steering and rotation, but also slightly decreases rear traction. This is recommended for medium-high-traction tracks, or when tyres with additive are used. The remainder of the car was left unchanged and the kit will hit stores very soon.

New 2018 features:
– All-new chassis features a unique, innovative front flex adjustment using an insertable aluminium brace. Using the aluminium brace increases steering response and cornering speed; without the aluminium brace, the car is easier to drive
– All-new rear layshaft bulkheads allow use of bracket bushings that connect the layshaft bulkheads with rear bulkheads to reinforce the entire rear suspension, making the car better in high-traction conditions. Without the bracket bushings, the car has more traction which is recommended for low-traction conditions
– All-new graphite brace for rear bulkheads gives easier access to engine screws
– All-new graphite brace connecting the rear layshaft bulkheads and radio plate stand for easier engine removal
