2018 ROAR Fuel On-road Nationals – Report

The 2018 ROAR Fuel On-road Nationals were held at Nuggets Ranch Raceway in Arcadia, Florida this past weekend. The 1/8th Open class saw Serpent’s Joaquin Desoto Jr. taking the title from the TQ spot with Infinity’s Christian Lopez coming in 2nd after the 45-minute A-main, some 26 seconds down. Shepherd’s Michael Palazolla rounded out the top 3 podium result in front of Ralph Burch and David Blakeney.

1/10th 200mm Nitro Sedan was top qualified by Ralph Burch, however a DNF for him meant that he wasn’t able to fight for the title that was taken by Xray’s Paul Lemieux some three laps in front of Serpent’s Eduardo Cabal. Xray’s Bryce Butterfield came in 3rd from Luke Pittman 4th and Joaquin Desoto Jr. 5th.

The 1/8th Masters class for drivers of 45 years or older was swept by Serpent’s Chuck Moon who took the TQ and win from Serpent’s Dana Smeltzer 2nd and Shepherd’s Peter Breton 3rd. Clarence Rosa and Greg Esser rounded out the top 5.

Finally in the ROAR Spec GT8 class it was IGT8’s Lazaro Alonso with the TQ and win from Serpent’s Joaquin Desoto Jr. on the runner-up spot. Massimo Fabiani came in 3rd for IGT8 as Greg Esser and Anthony Cope completed the top 5 overall result.
