Drake & Bornhorst win at Southern Indoor Nationals

The 2018 Southern Indoor Nationals were held in West Monroe, Luisiana this past weekend. The event was held in several 1/8th Nitro and Electric as well as a single 1/10th Open SCT class and in Pro Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Cole Ogden with the TQ from Tekno RC’s Ryan Lutz. Pro Nitro Truggy was TQ’s by Tekno’s Ryan Lutz with teammate, Joe Bornhorst in 2nd. Over in Pro Electric Buggy the top 2 again were taken by Ryan Lutz and Joe Bornhorst. Onto the finals and in Pro Nitro Buggy it was Mugen’s Adam Drake with the win in the 45-minute main final, some 5.6s in front of Joe Bornhorst while TQ Cole Ogden had to settle for 3rd overall, a lap down.

The 45-minute Pro Nitro Truggy main was won by Joe Bornhorst who left behind Cole Ogden with a 30-seconds margin. Serpent’s Brandon Rose snatched the final podium spot. In the Pro E-Buggy category it was Joe Bornhorst who set the pace and by winning A1 and A2 he would grab an early overall win for the title. Ryan Lutz came in 2nd with 2-2-1 finishes while Tyler Hooks (Tekno) rounded out the top 3 despite scoring a DNF in the opening A-main.
