Mugen MBX8 -3 Ackermann plates & +15mm wing mount

Mugen have introduced two new option parts for the MBX8 line of buggies in the form of the -3 front upright Ackermann plates and the +15mm rear wing mount. Starting with the Ackermann plates, the items move the steering rod ball stud location 3mm towards the outside compared to the kit standard arms, which results in improved initial steering response and improved stability coming out of corners. The parts are machined from high-quality carbon fibre.

Also new is the +15mm rear wing stay that can be used to further raise the rear wing for improved rear traction. While this can create additional rear chassis roll in corners, the longer wing stay allows to mount the whole assembly in a lower position compared to the stock part, while keeping the kit standard wing height, which results in a reduced overall centre of gravity and thus reduced chassis roll as the wing stay’s bulky part, that attaches to the shock tower, rests in a lower position as do the wing stay mounting screws. In addition to the height adjustment feature the wing can also be placed in a 6mm forward position, giving even greater wing positioning freedom.
