West German EP Off-road regionals Rd1 – Report

Last weekend the outdoor season in Western Germany kicked off on the huge Astroturf track of the RCRT Duisburg club. The joint event of the NORC round 2 and the West German National Qualifier saw almost 120 entries in several electric off-road classes. The weekend started pretty wet with lots of rain on Saturday but things changed on Sunday when the rain stopped and the track dried off with every hour. After three rounds of qualifying Jens Becker was able to take the TQ in the 2WD Modified class and he was also able to bring home the overall win after the mains. It was a though but fair and fun fight with Marcel Schneider who finished 2nd, followed by Jorg Mampel in 3rd.

In 4WD Modified it was Marcel Schneider with the TQ while Jens started from the 2nd spot into the triple mains. With a win in the second final and second spot in the third leg, Jens finished 2nd overall behind Marcel, who won A1 and A3. Raoul Nebelung completed the podium on the 3rd spot.

In the Modified Truck class Jens also took the TQ and won all three A-mains for the overall victory. Maik Diel came in 2nd and Leon Heidemann rounded out the podium in 3rd.
