An introduction to SGP1

…commercial motivation what so ever. The idea is to help keep our hobby fun and create new excitement. SGP1, like UF1 in the USA, F1RCGP in Japan and many other F1 specific racing leagues, is to feed off of Formula One and put excitement into the hobby. If anyone from anywhere wants to replicate SGP1 racing series, we can help them with a turn-key program at Cost! I would like to see SGP1 rules and regulations to be the same everywhere, this way, there could be more sharing of information and data between hobbyists worldwide. Some images by Chasel Young….

F1RCGP Hong Kong final 2013 – Announcement

This year’s F1RCGP Hong King Final will take place at the ACO racing track in Fanling, Hong Kong on the weekend of the 1st of December. The final of the race series, founded by Hideo Kitazawa, will be run in cooperation with Waigo Hobby and it sees the running of an F1 and F1 GP, F1 Asia and F1 Scale class with drivers from Hong Kong and Japan along some international drivers being awaited. Aaron Lane wins rubber class at US F1RCGP

TQ Raceway saw the special USA round of the Japanese F1RCGP race series. The big class of the day was F1 Rubber with the popular UF1 rules format. Some of the top F1 racers in the area vied for the crystal trophy’s generously offered by the head of F1RCGP, Hideo-San, who flew in from Japan for this inaugural location. Once the tyre dust cleared in the A main Aaron Lane emerged on top to take the crown driving the new Exotek F1R2 prototype. Second place went to Bill Jeric who had Kevin “Panda” in tow. Super Grand Prix One F1 RC league finale

The Super Grand Prix One (SGP1) F1 RC league concluded its first inaugural season in China with great success. Over the course of 6 months with 6 rounds of intense racing, the final round saw 3 drivers with the mathematical probability to take the grand championship title. At the end, JJ Wang of Team HPI-A was crowned the Grand Champion with AI Luo of Team RW Lotus coming in second, and Dom Xu of Team JW-FGX finishing the season in third. Hiro Factory HRF10X F1 conversion

Hiro Factory have announced the release of their new F103/F104/F104W conversion called the HRF10X. Designed by Japanese driver Hiro Nakatani using his extensive race experience the chassis has already won the 4th round of F1RCGP in Japan as well as the Futasan Cup. The conversion is equipped with a 7075 aluminium motor plate with ball-style rear link suspension similar to that used in direct drive chassis’ and adopts a carbon W-style chassis for ideal chassis roll. AI Luo takes SGP1 Rd2

SGP1, the formula one r/c racing league in China completed its second round with over 23 teams and 53 drivers in attendance. Racing was exciting, with teams and drivers all trying to compete for points. The league was started two months ago with over 70 drivers signing up for the first season with 6 races planned. It is also now confirmed that Japan’s F1RCGP will be holding their 2012 season 6th round race in Shanghai together with SGP1, making the coming event in early June one of the largest international F1 races to date. AI Luo wins SGP1 racing league Rd1 in China

Formula One racing has officially started in China with the Super Grand Prix Formula One SGP1 racing league. The league is inspired by UF1 in the US and F1RCGP in Japan, the goal is to promote F1 r/c racing in China. 70 drivers from 25 teams have signed up for the first 6-race winter league and the opening race this past weekend at Shanghai’s RCI indoor racing club saw 48 drivers in attendance.
