Richard Volta wins French 1/8 Nats Rd2

…meant the win went to Tequi, from Baehrel in 2nd and Arnaud Mathieu in 3rd. In the Elite class final Volta got straight into the lead but was hassled for the first half of the race by the chasing pair of Nicolas Guillot and Jérôme Papaconstantinos. Volta, driving a Shepherd Velox, eventually managed to pull out a gap and take the win, and following problems for Guillot, the Kyosho pairing of Papaconstantinos and Adrien Siefried finished in 2nd and 3rd. Richard Volta wins Rd5 of French 1/8th Nats

…title had been decided as round 4 winner Stephane Bouche could not finish his final, a retirement with 4 minutes to go meant he was out and Nicolas Guillot could claim the title. There was still a race to be run and from the start it was clear that Richard Zatla was the man to beat as he pulled ahead leaving the others to battle for the runner up spots. Newly crowned Champion Guillot was the first retirement while at the head of the chasing pack it was a close race between Laurent Zatla and returning 2000 European Vice Champion…

Stéphane Bouche wins Rd4 of French 1/8th Nats

…was Guillot that once again lined up first. The start of the final saw a great battle between title competitors Bouche, winner of round 2, and Guillot until the latter flamed out handing his Mugen team mate the lead, up until the 22nd minute when he stopped for tires, handing the lead over to the pairing of Adrien Siegfried and Laurent Pageneaux, both of which would not change tires. This battle almost paid off but Bouche, with his fresh tires, was able to catch Kyosho racer Siegfried and pass him for the lead just before the last turn giving Bouche…

Nicolas Guillot wins Rd3 of French 1/8th Nats

Last weekend in the South France, saw the 3rd round of the French National 1/8th scale Championships take place at the Beaumont-Monteux track. In qualifying for the Elite class it was round 1 winner Nicolas Guillot that took the top qualifying spot ahead of round 2 winner Stephane Bouche, both racing for Mugen. In the main final Guillot could easily pull away after an accident in the first corner cost his Championship rival Bouche 5 minutes as he had to replace his exhaust system. Stephane Bouche wins Rd2 of French 1/8th Nats

…to the front with pole man Guillot slotting into second followed by Siegfried, up until he lost his second gear which dropped him down to 6th. Laurent Zatla also ran into trouble losing his belt which meant that Marc Pomponio could move into 3rd and that was how it finished with Bouche taking the win by 1 lap in front of Guillot with Pomponio a further 7 laps back. In the National class it was Serpent racer Gerald Colinet that took the win, by 1 lap ahead of Mugen racer Dominique Lichtle while 3rd position went Sylvain Tolomelli, also driving…

Nicolas Guillot wins Rd1 of French 1/8th Nats

…a Kyosho in 3rd. At the start of the main final Guillot is knocked off the track and almost loses a lap while Bouche and Siegfried are left to battle it out at the front, Siegfried eventually having to retire with mechanical problems gifting Bouche the lead. All the time Guillot is working his way up the field having found a good pace and when Bouche has a problem, Guillot pounces and takes the lead and with it his first ever win in the Elite class followed home by Bouche in 2nd and Zatla in 3rd.
