Coming from HRC Racing are two new LiPo battery packs. First up is a 5000mAh oval diameter hardcase battery made using 40C cells. Designed for the use in applications that usually require racing pack style NiMH batteries, such as RTR cars and starter boxes, the LiPo variant makes for improved performance and run time. The pack features an external balancer port and it is available with a T-type or standard Tamiya plug. Two new products from Xceed RC, who have released a complete off road air filter set as well as this 4200 NiMh battery pack. The 6 cell 7.2V pack is pre assembled and comes with a Tamiya style plug, making it suitable for use in RC cars as well as starter boxes and other uses. The air filter set includes a hard plastic case and top plate that keeps the filter elements well mounted and protected. …not much of a task but only after we got rid of the hand held starter. With a warm or broken-in engine the starter works just fine but with temperatures just below zero it was nearly impossible to start the nitro engine of the SC8. Due to the low ambient temperatures the Thunder Tiger big block engine showed a lot of pinch so we found it easier to put it on a starter box. Thanks to the large opening underneath the flywheel we had no problems to use an external starter. Normally it’s a sheer pain to try and start…
