Spashett & Fletcher take Rd2 of BRCA 1/8th nats

…Tim Wood both had managed to get in to the 18 laps. In Electric Billy broke the 22 lap barrier with Mark (Tesla) Green on 21 laps, but the split was close and the other drivers in the class closely bunched. Electric 1/8 run best 2 from 3 runs and in the B final some close racing across the three runs saw Chris (Bettsy) Betts come out on top ahead of Lee Henson and Jason Hurley. The 3 leg A final went very much according to qualifying position with Billy Fletcher winning ahead of a very smiley Mark (Tesla) Green

Thurston & Fletcher take Rd1 of BRCA 1/8th nats

The opening round of the BRCA 1/8 Circuit Nationals was held at the ultra-fast Brookland circuit in Kent recently, with warmer weather greeting the racers. It was great to see and welcome many new and returning drivers to the class including Ralph Crampton, Rob Colman and Vinicent Meron among others. Around 40 drivers were competing across the two classes with the usual front runners in nitro class of Tim Wood, Alex Thurston and Mark Green fighting for honours in qualifying, with Alex taking 3 out of 4 rounds and TQ. Alex Thurston is 2020 British National Champion

…most of the rest of the qualifying, only getting out for Q4. Tim Wood (Shepherd) would take the top spot in qualifying in front of Kyle Branson (Capricorn) in 2nd, with Thurston, winner of the 4 rounds of the series to date, in 3rd, with Mark Green (Serpent) and David Spashett completing the top 5. At the end of the 30 minute A-final, Alex Thurston would claim victory ahead of his team mate Kyle Branson, with Mark Green in 3rd. Tim Wood wins BRCA 1/8th IC Track Nationals Rd7

…Saturday saw a number of new and younger drivers attending which was great to see. The main final saw a battle between Mark Green, Tim Wood and David Spashett. Tim and Mark had a good battle up front whilst Dave was picking his way up the order after starting from 11th after a time delay. Wood passed Mark to take the lead early on, and at the chequered flag the result was 1st and fastest lap for Tim Wood, 2nd Mark Green, and 3rd David Spashett. BRCA 1/10th IC Circuit Nationals Rd5 – Report

…Just getting a car to run was hard enough. Just as in qualifying this proved no obstacle to Paul Bellinger (Serpent) who finished seven laps up on Glyn Beal (IGT8) in 2nd, with Barry Thompson in 3rd. The A-final of 220mm GT was dominated by the top three qualifiers. Mark Green took the win with Glyn Beal runner-up and a hard earned and well deserved 3rd place for Mark Newby. BRCA 1/8th Circuit Nationals Rd6 – Report

…in round 2 and 3 but Mark Green managed 20 laps. Tim Wood was also on the pace for 20 laps but could only do 19 in 298 in round 3. After round 4 FTD went to Mark Green (Serpent) with 20 in 315, followed by Tim Wood (Shepherd) with 19 in 298. David Spashett (ARC) was 3rd with 19 in 301. Green & Scott take wins at BRCA Circuit Nats Rd2

The Halifax circuit played host to round two of the BRCA Circuit Championship. In the nitro class Andy Hastings set the pace in qualifying with his Shepherd from David Spashett (ARC) and Michael Walton (Xray). The 30-minute final saw a battle with Andy and Michael for much of the race, Mark Green having qualified only 8th worked his way through the field and with ten minutes remaining took over the lead from Michael who had to retire after some contact. Tim Wood wins BRCA 1/8th IC Track Nats opener

The opening round of the 2019 BRCA 1/8th IC Track season started at the Brooklands circuit in Kent on the south coast. A good entry of drivers descended on the track, which was in its best condition since returning to the calendar. After a solid days testing on Saturday, the race got underway on Sunday morning. Shepherd’s Tim Wood took the TQ honours from Serpent’s Mark Green after two rounds of qualifying before rain halted proceedings.
