Novak Mongoose Micro Brushless System

Novak has released their latest line of micro brushless systems, with the announcement of the release of the Mongoose Micro Brushless System. This system includes the new Novak Mongoose Brushless/Brush ESC factory-wired to one of three, new Novak Three-80 Micro Pro Brushless Motors. The Three-80 Micro Pro is the first sensor-based brushless motor that is specifically designed for 1/18 and 1/16-scale cars. Because it is sensored and lightweight, it gives micro scale cars the ability to manouver at high speeds in extremely tight spaces, all with unsurpassed low speed and braking control. The Mongoose’s Brushless/Brush ESC and sensored brushless motor are perfectly matched to maximize performance and handle with the agility and speed of a mongoose.

Novak Micro Sensored BL Motor system

While specifications and features are not yet fully finalized, Novak have announced that their are in the process of finalising this new micro system which will feature the same sensored technology employed in their GTB, XBR and HV systems. This sensored design ensures silky smooth, low-end throttle and brake performance yet still retains quick response throughout the rest of the throttle and brakes. The motor is a standard 380-size and will easily fit in most available 1/18-scale vehicles such as the Xray M18 shown above. The ESC is roughly the size of Novak’s GTX. Available in the near future.

Novak Sintered 13mm Tuning Rotor

Novak have introduced this sintered 13mm tuning rotor that has been designed to alter the feel and experience of driving a Novak motor, and offers a new dimension of tunability. With a slightly larger diameter and improved magnetic material, the rotor can withstand a higher temperature threshold, improving its durability while also increasing the natural drag brake and opening up the motor’s gearing window to improve drivability. The Sintered 13mm Tuning Rotor is compatible with the Novak Velociti-series, SS Pro-series brushless motors and any Novak 540-size brushless motors with an oversized front end bell bearing.

Novak 3A High-Voltage Universal BEC

This product was released earlier in the week but we didn’t get around to writing about it then and so here it is today. Novak’s 3-Amp High-Voltage Universal BEC allows you to run higher voltage main battery packs, up to 26.4 Volts (4-22 Ni-MH Cells or 2-7 Li-Po), and regulates output to 6 Volts/3Amps to provide consistent power to your electronics throughout the charge. It is ideal for applications that use higher main battery pack voltage above 12 or more volts in the main battery pack due to the fact that most speed control BECs have difficulty handling more then 8.4 volts input.

Novak GTB & GTB Spread Spektrum ESCs update

While the GTB ESCs from Novak aren’t new they have been received an update which sees the GTB and GTB Spread Spectrum racing speed controllers come with built-in LiPo Cut Off Circuitry. This circuitry monitors the vehicle’s Lithium Polymer battery pack’s voltage, and prevents the batteries from going below the critical safety voltage level of 6.25 volts.

Novak 4 cell transponder voltage booster

This is a neat little thing from Novak, its a 4 cell transponder voltage booster which basically ensures that your 4 cell powered vehicle always has enough power for the transponder because after all theres no point in having power to continue your race if your laps aren’t being counted. Available in January 2007.
The module connects between the vehicle’s transponder and the receiver, and boosts voltage to the transponder for consistent lap counting—even when the battery pack is dumped.
