Wij schreven terug over zijn motor in Mei toen het was eerst bevrijd in Japan and now that it has come state side we have more information. The O.S. Speed .12TZ Spec II engine has a magnesium head that’s 35% lighter than standard head material which helps lower the engine’s centre of graivty, essential for touring cars. The front bearing is sealed and the rear bearing is ceramic which resists heat and lasts longer than a steel balled version. The crankshaft has also been coated to fight friction and increase durability and is lightened and epoxy-filled for more efficient fuel direction.

O.S. Engines 12TZ & 12TG Categories - OS Engines, Engines, Off Road, Products - comments closed
O.S. have announced 2 new engines to fill a vital niche in the stadium truck market with the release of the 12TZ (P) and the 12TG-P. The 12TZ is a turbo engine with a 3-port ABC liner and 3-needle rotary carb, for optimum adjustability, and this motor meets all IFMAR and ROAR 3-port specs. The bore and stroke of this motor provide the widest possible power band and with it the ability to adapt to any track. The 12TG-P is also a ROAR legal motor and works well in cars like the Associated GT2 and HPI Firestorm, and like all 12TG engines it’s easy to break in and very economical, expecting to get up to 14 minutes of run-time on a single tank of fuel.

Joseph Quagraine joins O.S. Engines Categories - OS Engines, Novarossi, Gas, Off Road, Racing, Drivers - comments closed
Our partners Neo Buggy are reporting that 3 times Nordic champion and Worlds Semi-finalist Joseph Quagraine has left Italian engine sponsor Novarossi and joined forces with the Japanese manufacturer O.S. Engines. Joseph makes the switch after 2 and a half years with the Italian outfit having joined them from Picco in late 2004. His most recent, and final, victory for Novarossi came 2 weeks ago when he took the truggy class win at the Offroad Meeting in Monsummano, driving the HoBao RTR truggy.
I would like to thank Novarossi for their excellent support during the last few years. I wish everyone at Novarossi all the best for the future, however I look forward to a long and successful future driving for O.S. Japan, and would also like to thank them for this oppurtunity.
Quagraine joins a long list of star racers that are currently using the O.S. buggy motor such as Pavidis, Maifield, Hughes, Tebo, Smolnik, Bradley, James and Saxton, all of which were in action at last weekends ROAR Buggy Nationals.

OS Speed VZB V-Spec Alu Categories - OS Engines, Engines, Off Road, Products - comments closed
Neo Buggy have some news from World Champion engine maker O.S. about their new 3.5cc VZB V-Spec Alu headed buggy engine. The engine appears to be the same as the magnesium headed VZB, however features a more conventional aluminium head for those racers wanting the power of the V-Spec but on a tighter budget. The head’s styling also differs from the distinctive magnesium version as a result of the heat conduction characteristics of aluminium, which mean a smaller diameter can be used, and also allows for a new engine head shape. The weight difference is also kept to a minimum with the alu head only 25g heavier than the Magnesium version.
