Serpent Nations Cup - Event report Categories - Events, Serpent, Gas, On Road, International, Racing - comments closedSerpents website has a write up on the recent Nations Cup held in Portugal, that we reported on earlier. The large article goes into detail about the racing as well as the teams taking part and there is also a very large image gallery from the event.
An event that puts the emphasis on sharing information and team spirit, the Nations Cup once again achieved its goal but it also unearthed some great driving talents. Daniel Tomaschko was a real star for Team Austria, Poland’s Norbert Omelanczuk impressed with his speed while locals Joao Malveiro and Ricardo Nogueira also shone.

Serpent does Swiss double Categories - Serpent, Gas, On Road, National, Racing - comments closedAnother report from Serpent, this time announcing their victory in the Swiss 1/8th Expert championship, winning with Markus Geisendorf. Traugott Schär took the win in the 1/10th scale class, with Beat Wälti taking the runner up spot in the 1/8th Amateur class.
Traugott Schär secured the 1:10 title last month with his Mega ZX-12 DSII powered 720 and not to be outdone experienced international racer Markus Geisendorf followed this up by winning the 1:8 crown driving a 960. Markus also used Mega engines during his successful campaign.

John Sotiropoulos wins last round of Greek Nats Categories - Serpent, Gas, On Road, National, Racing - comments closedSerpent have a report on their site on the final round of the 1/10th Greek Nationals held last weekend at the Arena Circuit which saw John Sotiropoulos take the win.
Sotiropoulos’ Mega MF1 powered Serpent secured the TQ position and made light work of the opposition in the 30 minute final winning by a comfortable 2 lap margin from Mugen driver Kostas Sidiropoulos.

Serpent F180 launched at iHobby Expo Chicago Categories - Serpent, Gas On Road, Cars, Shows, Products - comments closedSerpent have just announced the launch of their long awaited F180 chassis. This 1/8th scale car is a true scale F1 car with grooved rubber tires, front and rear brakes as well as inboard suspension and an F1 type exhaust system that goes out the top of the body, at the rear.
The Serpent F180 has been officially launched at the iHobby Expo in Chicago. Presented to the attending press and dealers at the Molzer Mowery Racing stand, details of the cars specifications and launch date have also been announced.
Full specs and release dates for the 2 versions were also announced.

Dutch team win Serpent Nations Cup Categories - Serpent, Gas, On Road, International, Racing - comments closedAfter a massive battle the Dutch Team of Rob Kuijper, Danny Leewis and Stanley Bauer have won the 2006 Serpent Nations Cup in Lisbon Portugal.
Team Netherlands are the 2006 Serpent Nations Cup Champions. The Dutch won the event after a titanic three way battle of nations in Lisbon, Portugal, to win the crown from Leg 2 winners Team Austria.
The Austrian’s blistering day 2 performance saw them climb from fifth overnight to finish just 3 points off the winners after 48 races.
Defending Champions Team Great Britain lost their overnight podium position dropping one place to finish fourth.

Serpent Nations Cup, Dutch team win Leg 1 Categories - Serpent, Gas, On Road, International, Racing - comments closedIt looks like the racing in Lisbon, Portugal is very tight with the experienced 3-man Dutch team taking the lead after day one in this years Serpent Nations Cup.
Team Netherlands denied host nation Portugal a home win in the opening leg of the 2006 Serpent Nations Cup claiming a 3 point victory over Team Portugal(4) at the end of today’s (Saturday) 24 races.
Portugal initially headed the standings but problems in the 4th round of today’s competition saw the Dutch team of Danny Leewis, Rob Kuijpers and Stanley Bauer overtake the local to secure the Leg 1 winners trophy.
Good consistent performances by defending Champions Great Britain puts them just one point adrift of Portugal (4) to hold an overnight podium placing.
