EXCLUSIVE - Serpent F180 body shots Categories - Cars, Gas On Road, Products, Serpent - comments closed
Red RC have EXCLUSIVE shots of the new Formula car from Serpent, the F180, that is due to be released in kit and RTR versions in the new year. These pictures have not yet been released and we are privelaged to be the first to get them and be allowed show them to you. In previous pictures there was no body with the car or the body was clear. The 3 pictures of the car, with painted body, that we have really give a clear idea of how it will look on the track and exposes those oh so familiar F1 lines. Thanks to Serpent for giving us the EXCLUSIVE on these images….did i mention EXCLUSIVE….oh yeh i think i did :)

John Sotiropoulos is Greek 1/8th National Champion Categories - Gas, National, On Road, Racing, Serpent - comments closed
Serpent have a report on their site celebrating the fact that they have won the 2006 Greek 1/8th scale championship. John Sotiropoulos claimed the title driving a Serpent 960 and benefitted from a bit of luck in the last round of the championship to have his main title rival John Arkoumanis fall out after he himself had problems.
With his main rival also encountering problems the RC Microracing driver worked his way back to fourth position enough to give him the winning margin in the standings over Kyosho driver John Arkoumanis. Backing up the strength of the Serpent 960/Mega package Vaggelis Papachristos took third overall in the championship standings.

Serpent release drive calculator Categories - Accessories, Gas On Road, Products, Serpent - comments closed
Belgian racer Christophe De Vocht has developed a Drive Calculator program to work out drive ratios for all of Serpents current, and some older, models. The user can input all the pulley sizes as well as the tyre diameters for it to work out the ratio, it will also suggest a tyre size to get a user determined front to rear drive ratio too. As far as we are aware Christophe has also made versions for other manufacturers too.

The Serpent 960 of Sukenari Sahasi Categories - Cars, Gas On Road, Products, Serpent - comments closed
Central RC, a large importer, shop and track owner in Japan, have released pictures (and setupsheet) of the Serpent 960 of their top driver Sukenari Sahasi. The car is the one that Sahasi will use in next weeks Japanese 1/8th scale Nationals. As you can see from the pictures the car has been extensively softened with modifications to the car that allow it to flex more than that of the standard 960. The car has also been lightened as is the norm with any top driver trying to extract the miliseconds from their car.

Serpent Nations Cup - Event report Categories - Events, Gas, International, On Road, Racing, Serpent - comments closedSerpents website has a write up on the recent Nations Cup held in Portugal, that we reported on earlier. The large article goes into detail about the racing as well as the teams taking part and there is also a very large image gallery from the event.
An event that puts the emphasis on sharing information and team spirit, the Nations Cup once again achieved its goal but it also unearthed some great driving talents. Daniel Tomaschko was a real star for Team Austria, Poland’s Norbert Omelanczuk impressed with his speed while locals Joao Malveiro and Ricardo Nogueira also shone.

Serpent does Swiss double Categories - Gas, National, On Road, Racing, Serpent - comments closedAnother report from Serpent, this time announcing their victory in the Swiss 1/8th Expert championship, winning with Markus Geisendorf. Traugott Schär took the win in the 1/10th scale class, with Beat Wälti taking the runner up spot in the 1/8th Amateur class.
Traugott Schär secured the 1:10 title last month with his Mega ZX-12 DSII powered 720 and not to be outdone experienced international racer Markus Geisendorf followed this up by winning the 1:8 crown driving a 960. Markus also used Mega engines during his successful campaign.

John Sotiropoulos wins last round of Greek Nats Categories - Gas, National, On Road, Racing, Serpent - comments closedSerpent have a report on their site on the final round of the 1/10th Greek Nationals held last weekend at the Arena Circuit which saw John Sotiropoulos take the win.
Sotiropoulos’ Mega MF1 powered Serpent secured the TQ position and made light work of the opposition in the 30 minute final winning by a comfortable 2 lap margin from Mugen driver Kostas Sidiropoulos.

Serpent F180 launched at iHobby Expo Chicago Categories - Cars, Gas On Road, Products, Serpent, Shows - comments closedSerpent have just announced the launch of their long awaited F180 chassis. This 1/8th scale car is a true scale F1 car with grooved rubber tires, front and rear brakes as well as inboard suspension and an F1 type exhaust system that goes out the top of the body, at the rear.
The Serpent F180 has been officially launched at the iHobby Expo in Chicago. Presented to the attending press and dealers at the Molzer Mowery Racing stand, details of the cars specifications and launch date have also been announced.
Full specs and release dates for the 2 versions were also announced.
