Taiwanese company Himoto have released CAD images of their 2nd generation high downforce wing, which is suitable for use on 1/8th scale buggies and truggies. This IFMAR, EFRA & ROAR compliant wing is made from high quality plastic, so it wont break, and provides your off road car with lots of downforce with minimum drag. The wing comes in 4 colours - red, yellow, green and black, and should be available in August.

Another product from Hot Bodies that we had written about previously is the Moore-speed 2006 Mazda 6 MPS, which will soon go on sale, after being announced at the start of February. From its new air splitter to the revised rear spill plates, the Moore-speed 2006 Mazda 6 MPS is all-new and all about speed and handling. The front bumper, splitter, winglets, and the new bonnet bulge all enhance steering at high speed. A deep aero-channel from the windscreen to the rear deck improves air flow to the rear wing and new lip spoiler, while new bumper spill plates aid the exit of air from under the body.

MRC Models 1/10th Buggy wing Categories - Bodies, MRC Models, Off Road, Products - comments closed
Russian company MRC Models has contacted us to tell our readers about their new 1/10th scale rear buggy wing that they have developed. Made from 0.75mm thick lexan, the wing fits a large number of different buggies on the market and comes unpainted with a clear protective film on the top side.

The design process never ends at Upgrade RC it seems, with the US company releasing yet another graphic kit, called XR. Shown above in green and on the Jammin range of cars, the design will be available in a number of other colours and will be made available for different brands of 1/8th, 1/10th and 1/12th scale off road cars.

Also new from Pro Line is the release of the companies pre mounts for the 1:8 Truck/Monster Truck market. As expected Protoform have released their latest 1/8th CanAm body style, called the Frizbee, and it is designed for large tracks with long straights and sweeping corners. The Frizbee incorporates some unique air management features to improve handling and stability. A molded in fairing is located behind the cylinder head and INS box to minimize turbulence and aid airflow to the rear spoiler. In the front there are a pair of air-extractor vents that increase front downforce when properly cut and folded downward. The Frizbee fits all the popular 1/8th chassis and sits nice and low. Rear bite can be adjusted with the add-on rear wicker/gurney tab. Available in .030 Lexan (lightweight) or .040 Lexan (regular weight) this body has protective outer film and body side-stiffeners with hardware.

Protoform Frizbee body - Update Categories - Bodies, On Road, Products, Protoform - comments closed
Following on from the news that Protoform will release a new 1/8th scale body, the Frizbee, comes more pictures from ElliotCanada on RC Tech. The picture we had before of the clear unpainted body didnt allow us to see the unique details around the back of the engine before, and if you look at the pictures you will see that there is trailing aerodymanic aids just behind both the motor head and air filter. I presume this is to reduce airflow distortion caused by the engine and INS box before it reaches the rear wing, but whether this really makes a difference is to be seen on the track, although early reports suggest that this body performs well so they must be doing something.

More Illuzion bodies from JConcepts, this time for the Kyosho Inferno MP777, it comes available in either standard or heavy duty polycarbonate. This WC body features enhanced hard edge side pod styling with runner flow channels on the sides designed to move the air more efficiently to the wing. The roof of the body has been dramatically wedged and Illuzionized for that aggressive look while the front of the body has less of a transition from hood to window which gives it a more dramatic look.
