Our site sponsors Team Orion were delighted to inform us that Adrien Bertin has brought them yet another victory, this time at the 2008 Kyosho Masters, held in France last weekend. From 5th on the grid, Adrien went to 4th at the start and methodically moved through the field, taking advantage of his Team Orion CRF .21 powered Kyosho 777, which was also equipped with the new AKA tires for this event. After 15 minutes it was shaping up to be a three horse race between Daniel Reckward, Julien Lattanzio and Adrien Bertin and for 15 more minutes these three swapped the lead several times, never more than 8 seconds apart on the 35 second a lap track. With 10 minutes to go it was down to Reckward and Bertin, swapping the lead on pit stops as well as on the track. With two minutes to go the pair were nose to tail around the track and going onto the final lap, Adrien made the final pass for the lead at the end of the straight and he held on through bumpy conditions to take the win. Along with the performance of his Team Orion CRF Engine, Adrien was able to run on this multi-surface blue-groove track with the same set of tires in the last round of qualifying and also for the entire 45 minutes main event.

RB Concept in France have released the new ST, a .28 big block mill using the same design as their RT line-up. The engine features an ABC 3 port liner and comes with the strong, resilient MSC reinforced crankcase. Also a standard feature included is a roto-start system for ease of operation. Seen at this weeks ROAR 1/8th scale buggy Nationals at Thunder Alley in Beaumont, California, are these big bore shock absorbers on the Associated RC8. Currently being used by the factory team at this race, they are close to release pending some final parts getting produced. Also seen on some of the team cars, is new steering geometry, which combined with the new shocks increase corner speed and improve rough track handling. New from Reedy is a yet unnamed proprietary .21 engine in the final stages of testing and is being run by Rick Hohwart and Scott Brown at this event.
