Piktor Rush 2 clutch system

Introducing the original clutch system from the Piktor Rush 2 1/8th scale buggy. Continuing in Piktors aspirational way of telling us about their products they start by informing us how the best clutch to have is the one you forget, without worrying about it and the need for too much maintenance. It must also engage early enough to make the car easy to control, but also give maximum punch to propel you forward yet it must also slip a little bit to make it possible for the engines to breathe. The new clutch system in the Rush 2 does all this and more…apparently.

THS Racing TempDriver

I was looking briefly through this months RC Driver magazine and stumbled accross an advert for this, the TempDriver from THS Racing, and i thought it was interesting enough to have a closer look at. What is it? Well its a merging of two very essential tools, your temp gun and your long neck tuning screw driver. The handle is made from aluminium and contains the temperature gauge and its display whilst the other end is the screwdriver, simply point the handle at the motor as per normal, check the reading and adjust accordingly using the same tool. Is it better than two seperate tools, i dont know, it really depends on the quality of the product but its certainly thinking outside the box, and i like that.

New Ninja .12 and .28 motors

MID Mugen in Germany have announced the release of these 2 updated motors from Ninja, the .12 touring car motor (MR12 T01A) and the .28 truggy motor (MR28 M01A), in time for the 2007 race season. The new motors are similar to the .21 buggy and circuit motors that were released near the end of last year in that these new motors also now have been upgraded and sport the ‘A’ suffix at the end of their product number which mostly equates to better tolerances amongst the parts that will improve performance and reliability.

Team Orion fuel systems

Team Orion seem to have been thinking a lot about fuel lines and back pressure lines, what with the release of their constant pressure device (CPD) that we showed you yesterday and now this multiple line fuel tubing system. The system uses a t-shaped nipple to split the fuel from the tank and then a 2 ended fuel inlet nipple on the carburettor which together tries to ensure that the fuel makes it from the tank to the engine even when going through the fastest of bends. How legal this is i dont know, as the tech inspection at events usually measure the tank capacity along with the fuel line to the carburettor and with 2 lines it may pose a problem?

Nuernberg Toy fair – Engine round up

With so many products being shown at the fair we have decided to do a few rounds up of certain types of products, this first one being for engines. We have already seen the Mario Rossi tuned GRP motors and the new Team Orion CRF range or motors so whats left, well quite a lot actually. The engine above is the Danielle Ielasi edition motor from Picco and we would expect that it features the same work as every other ‘edition’ engine on the market but in a Picco motor and its available in circuit and buggy versions.
UPDATE: Added 3 more engines to the list.
