Spektrums new DX3R 3CH Surface Radio Categories - Products, Radio Equipment, Spektrum - comments closed
Horizon Hobby have announced the release of the new eye catching Spektrum DX3R 3 Channel 2.4GHz transmitter. In addition to unparalleled freedom and interference protection, DSM2 has a faster response time than any other spread spectrum or PPM system. With it, you will be able to hold the “line†around a track with a level of precision and control unlike anything you have experienced before. And because DSM2 uses direct sequence spread spectrum technology, you’ll maintain this superior response rate no matter how “noisy†the 2.4GHz environment gets.

KO Propo Esprit III Universe Categories - KO Propo, Products, Radio Equipment - comments closed
Now i know this radio isn’t of interest to most of our readers as they feel sticks are for people who fly airplanes, but for us older and more non US based racers, sticks are still often the way to go. In fact this very radio won 2 World titles last year in the hands of David Spashett in 1/12th scale and of course Andy Moore in 1/10th touring, this is also the radio of choice for multiple World Champion Masami Hirosaka. So whats new with it? Well as you can see from the picture, they have done something very non KO like and rounded some corners on the casing and in addition to that the internal workings are also very different.
The new Custom Menu feature allows for the use of the functions that you are going to use. No more searching for functions that you want to use! Add, delete, prioritize the functions. The navigation of the menu is relatively easy with the use of the jog dial. The exquisiteness of the arrangement of the jog dial and the command key utilize the highest ease of use.

Futaba release 3PM with 2.4GHz FASST System Categories - Futaba, Products, Radio Equipment - comments closed
Following on the back of the release of the Airtronics mid level 2.4GHz radio, comes Futabas mid level 2.4GHz radio, the 3PM. Expected to be released in mid March, this new radio uses the companies FASST (Futaba Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology) technology, and this has been built into the transmitter, doing away with the need for a separate module.
The 2.4GHz modulation is wired directly into the transmitter circuitry so there’s no separate module to plug in. On-road and touring drivers will appreciate the unbeatable combination of precision and convenience that the FASST 2.4GHz system offers. More great “driver-friendly†features of the 2.4GHz FASST system include:
- Constant shifting within frequencies – no more signal conflicts or waiting for a frequency to open up.
- “Auto-Detect†instantly determines whether HRS or PPM mode is active in the transmitter.
- Fail Safe for both the transmitter (in case of interference) and the receiver (in the event of low voltage).

Airtronics release 2.4GHz MX-3 Categories - Airtronics, Products, Radio Equipment - comments closed
Airtronics/Sanwa have shown their first 2.4GHz radio at the Nürnberg toy fair this week and RCCA managed to get the lowdown on it. The new system uses the mid level MX-3FHSS radio which still retains the same features but has been installed with the new technology and than had the aerial removed leaving only this rather cool looking sharks fin antenna. Airtronics have been pretty slow adopting this new technology and news of this announcement would surely mean that 2.4GHz modules for their M11 and Exzes Plus radios should be expected in the very near future.

Speed Mind Carbon finish transmitter bag Categories - Merchandising, Products, Radio Equipment, Speed Mind - comments closed
More products from Speed Mind, this time it is this carbon cloth effect transmitter carry bag. Available to suit most of the main brands of transmitter this case sports a foam insert that is cut out to hold the transmitter snuggly in place and protects it from bumps and bangs and there is also enough space for crystals and a spare receiver etc. The best thing about this bag though is the carbon effect finish on the outside, it looks really cool. The case comes with both a handle and a shoulder strap too.
UPDATE: It turns out that this product is actually quite old, but if you hadnt seen it before its new :)

Blue Groove Pro Grips Categories - Accessories, Blue Groove, Products, Radio Equipment - comments closed
We feel we must give these ‘Pro Grips’ a special mention for being one of the uglier accessories to pimp your transmitter with this season. Made by Blue Groove RC Concepts out of North Carolina they are available in 4 colours and turn your normally slick, in this case M11, steering wheel into something more resembling Bob the Builders tractor wheel. Regardless of how they look i’m sure they work, and will allow even the sweatiest of racer the control they need to move over and go another lap down.
BGC have also released 5 rather nice solid billet steering wheels for your transmitter, perfect for those racers who feel the need to customize everything they bring to the track.
