We received some pictures from our site sponsors, AKA, of Gil Losi, Jr and team drivers Ryan Lutz, Cody King, Jimmy Wright and Mark Pavidis, who have just completed a three-day marathon of testing the all new AKA tires, wheels and foam inserts on a number of different tracks. The tests went very well and we have been informed that Mark has now left for the EFRA GP in Greece, where he will be competing with the AKA tires.

Losi have released these molded foam inserts specifically designed for Losi 1/8 Buggy Tires. Featuring a special design and material formulation they ensure that the contact patch and side wall flex remain consistent and correct for the life of the tire. Unlike punched sheet foam or cheaply made generic inserts, these molded foam inserts will not break down and their consistency is second-to-none; one tire will not be softer or harder than the next, either of which can create serious handling problems.

Vita Tuning have announced the impending release of this Stationary Wheel Balancer, which will be made available under the Reckward Tuning brand. Suitable for all off road wheels with a 17mm wheel axle, this system sees the wheel rotate itself to the heavier point, making identification of unequal weight distribution easier. Through the use of plastescine the user can then balance up the wheels and easily re-check them.

Italian tyre manufacturer ATS have introduced a new addition to their product range with the release of these 1/12th scale pre glued tyres. Available separately for 1/12th scale electric racing classes and nitro classes such as the Kyosho Spada, each line offers a different range of hardnesses for both the front and rear of the car. Also new from ATS is an A4 promotional decal sheet sporting full colour ATS logos in a variety of sizes for different applications.

JConcepts have released the Goose Bumps tire for use on a variety of 1/10th scale chassis’. The totally unique step pin and bar lug design combined with sticky compounds like green allow even greater control on slightly loamy and wet conditions. A special breed, they have been designed for maximum performance when new or used as the design allows even wear all the way down to the tire body. Once the driver wears through the initial pin, a bar follows to maximize potential on aggressive surfaces. Incorporating a compact tire body with a crisp tread pattern with precise separation for intense racing competition, in new condition they excel on soft surfaces with either dry or wet conditions, while worn versions excel on indoor or outdoor clay tracks where a slight groove has formed.
