At the recent iHobby Expo in Chicago, the boys over at 4wdrc.com made the next instalment in their ongoing podcast series. This time the podcast contains an interesting interview with top US off roader, and Horizon Hobbies employee, Adam Drake. Magnus Vassmar takes 2006 Swedish 1/12th Champs Categories - Electric, On Road, National, Racing, Drivers - comments closed
Team Orion is reporting on their site that team driver Magnus Vassmar (old picture) has won the Swedish Indoor 1/12th scale Championships. This very talented youngster has now won back to back indoor titles in 1/12th scale as well as 1/10th.
Magnus Vassmar conquered the competition in the 1/12 Modified class at the 2006 Swedish Championships. Utilizing the latest voltage enhanced V-Max Plus RDS IB4200 WC cells, Magnus became double consecutive Swedish Indoor Champion in 1/12 and 1/10 classes.

EFRA (European governing body) have released their list of A list drivers for 1/10th IC Track for 2007. This list basically shows who is not allowed to compete at the first ‘B’ licensed European Championships for 1/10th scale taking place in Roeselare, Belgium next year. This ‘B’ championship was added to the calendar due to the huge popularity of the class and the fact that previous European Championships have been oversubscribed. The ‘A’ Europeans for 1/10th scale are held in Madrid, Spain in 2007.

The 1/8 Buggy class was the most competitive and largest class with almost 90 entries. Gary Guest took home TQ honours by posting the fastest overall time of the event and then when on to take the win, piloting his Jammin X1-CR FTE across the line first.

Xray are carrying a report on their site from their team driver Jon Hazlewood that outlines in detail his super busy and successful 2006 off road race season. Its a good read that outlines the ups and downs of a top RC racer.
The world’s was a good event for me. I managed to qualify into the semi’s. I won my side and made it into the main final. | was very happy to achieve this. Unfortunately my motor eat half the track and stopped working, ending my final. I was still very pleased with the result. Making the main at a Worlds is so hard.

Ben Cosgrove joins Team Xray Categories - Xray, Racing, Drivers - comments closed
Top British electric racer Ben Cosgrove has been confirmed to drive for Team Xray for the 2007 season. Ben has already raced the new T2007 with some success but has now decided to make the make the move to the Slovakian manufacturer official.
As Ben himself says: “It’s hard to believe the amount of effort and design that has gone into the design of all the XRAY cars, not just the new T2′007. I’m proud to be driving an XRAY again!”
Ben will start his official team duties at Rd.2 of the British Indoor winter series.

Andy Moore takes Rd1 at BIWS Categories - Electric, National, Racing, Drivers - comments closed
Current World Champion Andy Moore took victory in the first round of the British Indoor Winter Series held at Don Valley. Driving his Hot Bodies Cyclone in the modified class he finished ahead of team mate Jonathon Bowden with Ben Cosgrove in third. Ben who was making his debut with the Xray T2007 also took victory in the 19T class.
