Round 7 of the BRCA 200mm Nationals were held at the Halifax track last weekend with good weather on Saturday meaning most drivers managed to find a good set up for their cars. On Sunday it was Kyosho racer Chris Slater who took TQ with a 19 lap run followed by Serpent racer Mark Green in 2nd and Mark Gilliland 3rd. Just before the start of the A final it started to rain and many drivers opted for different tires, the start of the final saw Adam Catchpole got a good start followed by Kyle Branson, Mark Green and Mark Gilliland. By the end of the 30 minutes final it was Adam who took the win with little change in the following pack with Kyle and Mark taking the remaining 2 spots on the podium.

Ryan Lutz dominates RC X-Games Categories - Events, Gas, Off Road, Racing - comments closed
Kyosho team driver Ryan Lutz TQ’ed and won both Pro Buggy with his MP9, and Pro Truggy with his ST-RR at the recent X-Games race. In the buggy class, Lutz got the holeshot and never relinquished the lead, even during pit stops. Lutz’s average lap times were 2.6 seconds a lap faster than eventual second place finisher Thielke, with Kendall Welch taking 3rd. Lutz didn’t get away from the motocross-style starting gate as cleanly in the Truggy final, coming out of the dust in fourth place. But, it wasn’t long before he settled into a blistering pace that would average more than 4.3 seconds faster per lap than second place Michael Paige, also running an ST-RR. Brandon Rohde and Kendall Welch finished third and fourth respectively, giving Kyosho a sweep of the podium plus. The RC X-Games also featured a “Last man standing” event, which was reduced to a demolition derby at its end, a big air contest, and a two-hour, three-man endurance. Kendall Welch scored top honors with his 777WC, showcasing the durability of the Inferno, while Lutz, Rohde, and Welch also teamed up for the endurance, taking top honors in yet another event.

Last weekend the battle for the Swedish Championship in 1/8IC and 1/10NT classes took place at the beautiful track at Väst-8 in Gothenburg. 4 qualifying rounds were completed on Saturday in nice, sunny and warm weather and this must have been one of the closest battle for years to make the 4-top qualify places. In 1/10 class it was just 1.2 second separating the first 4 drivers, with Roland Ström/Kyosho took the TQ spot by 0.005 second before his team mate Magnus Vässmar with Tommy Bergfeldt and Edwin Sunesson completing the top 4. The battle in 1/8 class was almost as tight as in 1/10 with Mikael Fransson/Mugen setting the pace and was TQ a couple of seconds before Marcus Lindner, Bengt Andersson and Mattias Ericsson. The difference between second placed and 5th place was only 1.5 seconds.

Tim Bremicker claims German title Categories - Gas, National, Off Road, Racing - comments closed
The 2nd leg of the German 1/8th scale buggy championships was held last weekend at the Rhein main circuit in Bischofsheim under really warm and dry conditions. The track started very dirty but as the event progressed and the 118 entrants got out on the track the grip picked up and the track started to get faster. The race was won by Kyosho MP9 racer Tim Bremicker in front of another Kyosho racer Dario Vita, running the MP777, while Patrick Feschtschenko with the LRP S8-BX ended up in 3rd. This results combined with the leg 1 result gave Bremicker the title ahead of his team mate and leg 1 winner Daniel Reckward in 2nd and Feschtschenko 3rd, all racers using the new Tourex tire from Reckward Tuning. The German Junior title was won by Kyosho racer Denis Macek ahead of Xray driver Markus Eirenschmalz in 2nd with reigning National Champion Philipp Guschl in 3rd.
