S. Bouche wint Franse 1/8 Nats Rd4 Categories - Gas, On Road, National, Racing - add a comment
Om 4 van de Franse 1/8ste schaal werd het Nationale Kampioenschap ontvangen vorig weekend door de club CMB in Ferrière aux Etangs. Het weer was fijn voor het grootste deel van de gebeurtenis maar de regen kwam uiteindelijk vlak vóór def., maar het spoor had droog tegen de tijd dat def. van de Elite het spoor nam. Bij het kwalificeren van de Zaterdag voor de klasse van de Elite was het De Europese Kampioen van B Richard Volta die een poolstandpunt innam dat door Stéphane Bouche en Romain Picard, wordt gevolgd terwijl in de Nationale klasse het lokale racer Gérald Colinet was van het Serpent die de hoogste vlek van Romain Baehrel en Philippe Cima eiste. De belangrijkste zaag Volta van de Elite, die de Nationale titel kon eisen, verdwijnt in het lood bij het begin en door het midden van de race had een 2 overlappingsvoordeel, maar het wasn’ t om te zijn aangezien hij een technisch probleem had dat hem uit geschil liet vallen. Dit linkerBouche in het lood, van waar hij door een overlapping van Laurent Pageneau in tweede en Picard Romain in derde ging winnen, helemaal voltooiend een podium van Velox van de Herder. In Nationale klassendef., betekende een nat spoor de voorwaarden voor racers netelig waren, maar de poolmens Colinet kon zijn hoogste kwalificerende vorm in een race vertalen wint, nemend vlag 4 overlappingen voor Philippe Cima in 2de plaats en Philippe Regolle in derde.

De 6de ronde van de regionale bepalende woorden van het Zuiden voor het Duitse Kampioenschap werd gehouden vorig weekend in Türkheim. Het perfecte weer begroette alle racers, kon het betekenen van bestuurders de ideale opstelling voor hun auto's een testen en vinden. In de kwalificerende hitte Erik die Dankel, een Velox drijven zet op een grote show, die een nieuw spoorverslag van 12.1 seconden op zijn manier aan poolpositie voor Andreas Hammerl in tweede en Januari Dankel plaatst in derde. Bij het begin van def. kon Erik zijn eerste standpunt innemen en aangezien het ras vorderde kon hij het hiaat bij de voorzijde tot 2 overlappingen bij miniem teken verhogen 20. Erik went on to win the race from Philip Erbele in 2nd with Norbert Mayrhofer in 3rd, and the Shepherd racer now also takes the lead in the series with 3 wins.

The 3rd round of the Swedish Cup took place at the fast Skanska Ring in Örebro last weekend. After a couple of weeks with very warm and sunny weather it had now become cooler and more unstable. However the outlook for the weekend was not too bad, although Friday afternoon’s training was more or less cancelled due to rain. Four qualifying rounds were completed on Saturday in dry conditions. In the 1/10th 200mm class it was Kyosho driver Roland Ström who TQ’d in front of Alexander Andersson and Per-Ola Hård, while in 1/8th scale it was fast Kyosho driver Niklas Johansson who set the pace and made the TQ ahead of Serpent drivers Bengt Andersson and Christoffer Hallborg.

Van Lierop wins Rd3 Dutch 10th Nats Categories - Gas, On Road, National, Racing - add a comment
The 3rd round of the Dutch 1/10th scale 200mm Nationals were held last weekend at the MACH circuit in Heemstede, close to Amsterdam. Qualifying for the NK class, saw Xray driver Maarten van Lierop claim the pole position by less than a tenth of a second from Pedro Rombouts in 2nd, while round 1 winner Daan Jacobs and round 2 winner Ruud Schuitmaker rounded out the top 4. In the Nomac class qualifying it was Jurmin Etnel that took a clear pole position while in the 1/8th promo class Mark Hellenbrand had a close battle with Paul Conradi for the top spot. The NK final saw Van Lierop take an unchallenged win, following problems for Remy Moller and Daan Jacobs, which left Serpent racer Ruud Schuitmaker to take up the challenge but ended up in 2nd, a lap down on the winner, while Jurgen Geerligs took 3rd for Kyosho. The Nomac class saw a close battle between the top 3, who all finished within a lap of each other, with Ricardo van Dam taking the win ahead of Ingeborg Gommers in 2nd and Ricardo Hofmeijer 3rd. The 1/8th Promo class saw the win go to Paul Conradi who ended the race with a 3 lap advantage on Peter Ende in 2nd, while Mat Hukkelhoven was 3rd, 4 laps further back.

Xray are reporting on the recent 2nd round of the Finnish gas touring car Nationals that were held at the large Hyvinkää track. After the four rounds of qualifying it was Tony Raikas who was on pole position, only 0.8sec ahead of the Xray pairing of Pekka Koivula in 2nd and Daniel Kalves in 3rd. At the start of the main Koivula had a crash which dropped him down to last, while Raikas took off into the lead. At the 15 minute mark Koivula had worked his back to the front and passed Teemu Saarinen and Daniel Kalves for the lead. In the end Pekka had managed to pull out a 4 second gap and take the win from Saarinen in 2nd and Raikas in 3rd.

Last weekend saw the Southern German regional qualifiers take place at the Türkheim track. The 1/10th scale 200mm class qualifying saw Marc Fisher, racing the new GM car, take the pole position ahead of Mugen racer Mirco Thalheimer in 2nd and Sabrina Lechner in 3rd, in her first outing with the Kyosho chassis. In the main final, it was again Fischer who was untouchable as he went on to win comfortably ahead of Lechner in 2nd and Mugen racer Armin Baier in 3rd.

Danish Off-Road Nationals Rd3 Categories - Electric, Off Road, National, Racing - add a comment
We received a report from last weekends 3rd round of the Danish DRCMU Off-Road championship that was held at the Midtjysk RC Arena track. In Stock class it was again 9 year old Jesper Rasmussen that was in the fast lane with his Kyosho and nothing could stop him, taking the win in all 3 qualifying rounds to finish up in front of Martin Kristensen in 2nd and Kim Gundorph, in his first race, 3rd, while local youngster Sebastian Sorensen claimed the 4th spot.

Andreassen wins Norwegian Nats Rd1 Categories - Electric, On Road, National, Racing - comments closed 
We received a report from the 2nd round of the Norwegian Nationals that was held in Spydeberg, 40 min south of Oslo, at SMK’s large track. With the heat the country is experience over the last couple of weeks, tire wear was one of the big questions coming into the event. In qualifying it was Eirik Andreassen, racing a Tamiya, who was the fastest followed by Kjell Guttormsen in 2nd and John Lara in 3rd. Most of the driver used only 1 set of tires in qualifying and the most popular tire was Sorex 36.
