Kyle Branson wint BRCA 200mm Rd3 Categories - Gas, On Road, National, Racing - comments closed
De 3de ronde van de Britse 1/10ste schaalIngezetenen vond vorig weekend in Mendip in de droge omstandigheden, na sommige vochtige praktijkzittingen plaats over Zaterdag. Het kwalificeren ging de manier van jonge racer Kyle Branson van het Serpent, die een poolstandpunt tegen een halve seconde voor Groene het Teken van de teampartner innam. Belangrijkste def. vertrok met een dichte slag tussen voorzijde 2, ziend lood Kyle voor de eerste 5 minuten, slechts dalend aan tweede voor één overlapping terwijl het gaan voor brandstof, onmiddellijk herwinnend het lood bij het weggaan van de kuilsteeg. Deze orde bleef het zelfde tot het Teken problemen had en onderaan het gebied daalde, welke toegestane Kyle om aan een 2 overlappingsoverwinning te kruisen, zijn eerste Ingezetene wint, voor 2de geplaatste Robin Hammet met zijn van de het teampartner van de Röntgenstraal Klok derde van Gareth.

Schuitmaker wint Rd2 Nederlandse 10de Nats Categories - Gas, On Road, National, Racing - comments closed 
De 2de ronde van de Nederlandse 1/10ste schaalIngezetenen werd in werking gesteld vorig weekend bij het super snelle spoor Baanbrekers in Rucphen in het Zuidwesten van het land. Praktijk van de zaterdag werd onderbroken door regen en dit betekende dat vele bestuurders problemen hadden die een opstelling voor de auto's voor het ras van de Zondag krijgen. Het kwalificeren op Zondag werd in werking gesteld in de droge en in Nationale klasse het onlangs ondertekende racer Daan Jacobs was van de Röntgenstraal die een poolstandpunt enkel voor lokale racer Pedro Rombouts in tweede innam, met het in paren rangschikken van het Serpent van Ruud Schuitmaker en Remy Moller uit rond makend hoogste 4. De klasse Nomac was TQ' D door Ricardo Dam, 2 seconden voor Ingeborg Gommers, terwijl in de 1/8ste klasse Promo Peter van Koningsveld een duidelijk poolstandpunt voor Matte Hukkelhoven in tweede innam. De nationale definitieve zaag een dicht ras met Daan en Ruud die hun slag voortdurend van om 1, maar jammer genoeg kwam Daan sommige problemen tegen verlatend Ruud om een voordeel terug te trekken en te nemen wint van Kyosho racer Jurgen Geerligs in tweede, steunen 6 seconden en Muller Remy in derde, verdere 1 tweede achter. In de klasse Nomac, was het de bestuurder Jurmin Etnel van de Röntgenstraal die, door enkel over een overlapping van Ricardo Dam in tweede en Peter Verkerk in derde won, 4 overlappingen achter. The 1/8th Promo class was won by Paul Conradi, who came through from 5th on the grid to win by 5 laps ahead of Peter Ende, with Niels Reijnders in 3rd.

The second round of the Irish On Road Nitro Nationals took place over the weekend at the St. Annes track in the Irish Capital of Dublin and it was returning young ace Dean Lacey who took top honours in 1:8 at the controls of his Serpent 960. Fellow Serpent driver Graeme Lougheed was the Top Qualifier but a startline incident ended his chances of victory. This allowed Lacey to take control and make the perfect return to sport after a 10 month absence as he claimed the win ahead of the Kyosho’s of Colin Whelan and Nico Azzariti. In the 1:10 200mm A Final Eoin Doran made it two out of two with his Xray as he headed home TQ Qualifier Chris Lawlor and Colm Gaffney who both were driving Serpent.

We received a brief report from the 3rd round of the BRCA 1/8th scale Nationals, held yesterday at the Cotswolds track. Qualifying saw the first round TQ’d by Tim Wood by 4 seconds from Serpent team mates Richard Hicklin and Neil Diver with Mugen racer Andy North in 4th. Round 2, and Richard was flying and was about to TQ when he came into contact with Chris Heath’s Montonica, this left Tim still on pole from Andy North who was now only 1/2 second behind. Round 3 and it was Richard Hicklin that took TQ by 4 seconds over Andy North, with the only 20 Lap run of the day as Round 4 turned out to be slower for everyone.

The 2nd round of the Spanish 1/10th 200mm National Championships took place last weekend in Zaragoza. Qualifying saw the pole position go to the Mugen racer Josué Artiles ahead of Xray driver Eduardo Escandon in 2nd and Iñaki Pahissa in 3rd. The main final saw pole man Artiles lead for a long time until he ran into problems and this allowed Xray driver Iñaki Pahissa into the lead were he could bring his car home for the win, 1 lap ahead of team mates Víctor Pelaez in 2nd and Mikel Angulo in 3rd, a lap further back.

Last weekend saw race number 5 in the Israeli League, taking place at the Hot Wheels racing track in North of Israel. The weather was fantastic and it was Yaniv Sivan that took the TQ ahead of Nir Sivan and Adir Zvoloni. The final saw and exciting race as Yaniv Sivan lost his first position on the first lap dropping to 7th and having to make a big comeback on the rest of the field. Yaniv Levi took the lead following Yaniv’s problems and was chased hard by Nir Sivan and Dotan Halevi. 10 mintues into the race Dotan took the lead, all the while being closed down on by Yaniv Sivan who was in 4th at this stage. When Yaniv Levi had clutch problems and had to quit, Yaniv Sivan could make his way up to to 2nd and closed the gap on the leader Dotan Halevi. At the last pit stop Dotan Halevi came out from the pit lane and had a flame out and despite a quick restart, Yaniv Sivan could take the lead. For the last 7 minutes, Dotan tried to close the gap but at the end Yaniv Sivan won the race followed by Dotan Halevi with Nir Sivan in 3rd.

Coelho wins 1/10th Portuguese Nats Rd3 Categories - Xray, Gas, On Road, National, Racing - comments closed
The 3rd round of the 1/10th 200mm Portuguese National Championship was held last weekend at the Monsanto track in Lisbon, host of this years World Championships. The weather was very changeable throught the event, with drivers having to cope with wet and damp conditions, and it was local Mugen racer Bruno Coelho that took the pole position ahead of Eduardo Dulac and Jaime Silva in 2nd and 3rd. In the main final, pole man Coelho dominated from start to finish taking the win, which puts him atop the championships standings, from the Xray paring of Ricardo Mendes in 2nd and Filipe Costa in 3rd.

Raphael Robert wins Belgian Nats Rd2 Categories - Gas, Off Road, National, Racing - comments closed
The second round of the Belgian 1/8th scale Buggy National Championship was held at the MBRC track in Charleroi last weekend. Qualifying saw Hobao driver Raphael Robert take the top qualifying spot ahead of Losi pairing Jerome Renaux in 2nd and Sebastian Wartelle in 3rd. Raphael also won his semi final would line up on pole position for the 30 minute main final, in which he led from start to finish, to take the win by 2 laps from Losi racer Guy De Weerd in 2nd and Mugen driver Nickell Cédric in 3rd.
