Japanese company Kawahara are playing with the concept of introducing a new class based on the 1/10th 200mm class, called GPR. Essentially they are saying that due to the power of modern .12 engines that the cars have become more difficult to control. What they are suggesting is to use new wheels and tires that see the front increased to 30mm wide and the rear to 40mm wide, which will help get the power to the track and make the cars easier to drive. I’m not too convinced by the idea, as a major part of the skill of racing is to be able to handle that power, and also remember that the world had a class like this already - 235mm. Wednesday’s running at the 2008 Winter Nationals in Florida turned out to be a wash out with the rain coming down all morning, eventually stopping around 12 am. Racers were given free practice until 4pm or so and then the organisers continued with the programme, starting with round 2 of the Masters class. The 1/10th 200mm class managed to complete their 2nd round and it was Paolo Morganti that has moved to the top of the pack with a quick 2nd round run to move ahead of Paul LeMieux who drops to 2nd, while DJ Apolaro (above) now sits in 3rd. O 1/10th 200 milímetros classe conseguiu completar sua 2a rodada e foi Paolo Morganti que se mudou para a parte superior da embalagem com um rápido 2a rodada correr para passar à frente de Paul LeMieux que desce a 2, enquanto DJ Apolaro agora (acima) Senta no 3o. Tuesday’s first day of qualifying at this years Florida Winternats is over and for the days second run, the rain gods decided to pay a visit to the track and this caused the round to be scrapped. Ter o primeiro dia de qualificar este ano na Flórida Winternats é longo e correr para o segundo dia, a chuva deuses decidiram pagar uma visita à pista e isso causou a volta a ser demolido. Before the rain arrived, the racing was hot on the track with Mike Swauger setting the pace in 1/8th scale with his JP powered Mugen just in front of newly signed Motonica racer Josh Cyrul in 2nd, while 3rd spot overnight belonged to Aaron Buran. Antes da chuva chegou, a corrida foi quente na pista com Mike Swauger definir o ritmo 1/8th em escala com a sua JP powered Mugen mesmo em frente do recém-assinado Motonica racer Josh Cyrul em 2 ª, enquanto 3o spot overnight pertencia a Aaron Buran. In the 1/10th 200mm class it was Xray NT1 driver Paul LeMieux that was setting the pace, finishing only 1 second up on last years winner Paolo Morganti in 2nd, who had Serpent team mate DJ Apolaro just behind him in 3rd, while rounding out the top 4 was Kyosho driver Chris Tosolini. In a warm up race for the upcoming Nationals that takes place at the same venue in a fortnight, Mugen racer Nacho Lopez has dominated at the Cádiz track last weekend. Numa corrida para aquecer as próximas Nationals que tem lugar no mesmo local em uma quinzena, Mugen racer Nacho Lopez tem dominado na faixa Cádiz na semana passada. The Tecrotec backed racer was using a prototype of the new Picco Evo3, which was shown last week for the first time at the O Tecrotec backed racer estava usando um protótipo do novo Picco Evo3, o que foi mostrado na semana passada, pela primeira vez, o Picco stand Picco stand in Germany, and with it managed to TQ the event and break the lap record by 1 second on his way to the overall win of the event. Na Alemanha e, com ela, conseguiu TQ o evento e quebrar o recorde voltas por 1 segundo em seu caminho para a vitória global do evento.
